File contain records relating to the Honourable Alvin C. Hamilton's role as fact finder for the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. This role's purpose was to find alternatives to "surrender provisions" used in claim settlements and was initiated in response to a special report by the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples. Included in the file are "Extinguishing Extinguishment: Bringing an Era to an End" presented by Ovide Mercredi in his role as National Chief of Assembly of First Nations; copies of background paper "Achieving Certainty in Comprehensive Land Claims Settlements"; correspondence; and other materials related to this research.

XV Olympic Winter Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies

File contains two copies of the XV Olympic Winter Opening Ceremony (40 pages each) and two copies of the XV Olympic Winter Closing Ceremony (24 pages each). The Opening Ceremony publication highlights the behind the scenes as Calgary prepares for the Olympics, sews costume, music and choreography, and some highlights from the actual event. The Closing Ceremony publication covers the three Acts presented to show contemporary skating in Canada (Act I), skating in Canadian history (Act II) and modern spin on cowboy themed skating performance (Act III). There is also a final section on Canadian Olympic figure skaters (singles and pairs) who have won medals. All of the Publications are printed in French and English.

Wray Stereo Graphic camera & viewer

Item is a stereographic camera for dual 24x23mm exposures on 35mm film. The camera was originally produced by the Graflex company (from 1955), sold under the Wray name beginning in 1959, with lenses produced by the optical company. The lenses are fixed-focus with aperture options from f4-f56.

Item is a set of 6 filters used in photographic printing to alter the contrast and range of values in prints. Developed by C.E. Kenth Mees for the Wrattan & Wainwrite in 1906, the company was purchased by Eastman Kodak company in 1912.

World War 2 recovery centre and family photography album with stereoscopic viewer

Item is a cardboard boxed filled with 54 stereoscopic images. Item comes with one handheld, compact, metal accordion fold black stereoscope. This object was used to view two nearly identical photographs, or stereographs, as one three dimensional image. The stereograph would be placed in the sliding card holder and adjusted to fit the user's vision until the two images overlap to mimic a three-dimensional effect. Images are vernacular photographs sent to A.P. Manners Ltd. to develop, print, and then return images to photographers. Written by previous owners on a small yellow post-it-note : recoverying from W.W. II English Military Sectary.
