Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1868, by Zadoc P. Dederick, in the clerk's office of the District Court for the district of New Jersey." Dederick invented The Steam Man and patented him in March of 1868. The Steam Man was a steam powered pair of legs rigidly attached on a horizontal swivel to the front of a carriage. Hence the carriage was able to be steered. The body of the Man is the boiler and the driving cylinder is mounted on the back. Seems like this CDV was used along with the patent (#75874).

Photograph is a studio portrait of two women, both standing, side by side. Both women wear hats. One on left wears a dark shirtwaist, with a striped full skirt with hair tied neatly back and little bow at the neck. Woman on right has a dark dress, buttons down the front with a small white collar, in fashion in the 1860s. Her hair is shoulder lenght ringlets, also in fashion in the 1860s. Both have pink tinted cheeks.

Inside, a vignetted photograph of a man in Canadian army uniform, with a badge on his right shoulder labeled "Toronto". The back of the photograph is stamped "HALKSWORTH WHEELER/ 109A SANDGATE ROAD./ FOLKESTONE". This is handwritten on the front of the photograph, and the date August 1917 is written on the card.

Brown soft cover album with gold details. Bound by brown braided string. Black pages with photos held in with photo corners. Handwritten notations in black ink and green pencil.
Photographs are snapshots of houses, interiors, cars and a few of people in Shanty Bay, Toronto and around Ontario.

Item consists of a dark blue album with the words "Scenes By the Way" written in white ink on the cover. Pages are grey with cutouts to slide in and hold photographs. Photographs consist of cartes de visite, cabinet cards and tintypes and are either loose or glued onto the pages. Some have captions written in fading white ink.
Photographs were taken at studios in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; New Westminster, British Columbia; Summerside, Prince Edward Island; Ottawa, Ontario; and Chicago, Illinois, and all consist of single-figure portraits.

Item consists of a brown and gold album with the text "Floral Album" on the front cover. The pages have painted floral illustrations around the photographs and gold detailing on the edges. It contains portraits of mostly individuals and a few families or group. The images were taking by companies in Stouffville, Montreal and Toronto. Handwritten notes next to most portrait, describing the relationship of the persone photographed ("Flora Powell - cousin, Uncle Dave Wellman - Half brother of 1st family.")
