Package of fine grain double weight bromide paper produced by Canadian Kodak Co., Limited. The envelope is stamped "Expires Feb. 1, 1933". Originally contained 12 sheets. Package has been opened.

Packaging for 3 rolls of Kodak Verichrome Film, opened and no longer containing film although they have been re-glued shut. The 3 boxes were designed for various sizes and speeds: 120 film at 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches, 116 film at 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches, 124 film at 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. The packages are stamped with develop by dates: Nov 1934, Nov 1935, Dec 1935.

Round metal tin for 16 mm Eastman Color Negative II Film, opened and empty. Yellow sticker on canister indicates film length of 122 metres, and Kodak Canada catalogue number: 166 5687. Eastman Kodak Company is pressed into the bottom of the tin.

Roll of Kodachrome film for colour slides in black plastic tube packaging, is likely unexposed. 36 exposures, 35mm.

Item is an unopened box of Type B Ektachrome colour film for transparencies by Kodak with instructions to process before July 1973. 8, 12, or 16 exposures. EPB 120.

Kodak Kodachrome 64 35mm Colour Slide film rolls in original packaging. 1 box, originally containing 2 rolls, has been opened and damaged (piece detached from top of box) and 1 roll is missing. There is a folded envelope inside the box to be used to send the film to the Kodak Canada Inc. processing lab. The expiry date on the box is 04/90. The second box has not been opened and contains only 1 roll. The expiry date on this box is 12/99.

1 box of Kodachrome daylight colour reversal film in original, unopened packaging with directions to process before February 1989. ISO 25. 24 x 36 mm exposures. A 2nd box has been opened and contains 1 roll of film, unexposed, inside a black plastic cannister with a sheet of folded paper listing the properties and uses of the film in English and Japanese. (Exterior of box is printed in English only.) The second box gives directions to process before May 1986.

Unopened package of Polaroid Polacolor instant pack film 88, 8 color photos at 8.3 x 8.6 cm. Date stamped on bottom of package directs user to develop before 03/91.

Opened packages of Kodak Professional Vericolor III film, type L and type S for 4 x 5 inch prints. Each package has been re-sealed with scotch tape, and one package has the instructions taped to the outside of the box. The boxes are stamped for processing by 07/1990 and 07/1991.

The art is by V. Rodionov and it was produced in Moscow. A bit of Ukrainian is written on verso.

Small card posters printed with a photographic image of a young Lenin and his younger sister Olga. This photograph was taken by photographer E. L. Zhakrzhevskaya in 1874. Beneath the photograph it reads: Volodya Ulyanov with sister Olga. It was produced in Moscow.

Set of seven small posters in a book format, depicting Lenin with groups of children, most in a winter/festive setting. The drawings are by Soviet artist Nikolai Zhukov. The author of the stories was Aleksandra Terent'yevicha Kononova, the author of the text was Boris Polevoy and the design was by Yu. Kopeyko. The editor was K. Nazarova, the design editor was G. Kryukova, the technical editor was N. Zhitenyova and the corrector was N. P'yankova. It was published in Moscow. Both 1986 and 1988 are listed as the dates of creation.

Set of twenty small posters in a book format, depicting the life and work of Lenin. The editor waqs V. A. Krysov, the designer was A. S. Krivenko, the literary editor was L. A. Chernova, the design editor was A. N. Khvatov, the technical editor was T. V. Balagurova and the corrector was Ye. V. Danichenko. It was produced in Moscow.

Green hardcover album with black cardboard pages. Cover bears a gold symbol of postage stamp with inuit and caribou. Pages have plastic strips to hold postage stamps in place. The album holds at least one hundred Soviet stamps, many bearing the image of Lenin. several loose sheets of perforated stamps are placed between some of the rear pages.

various envelopes bearing illustratioins and Russian text, most including postage stamp and cancellation stamp. The cancellation stamps' designs honour congresses of the CPSU and anniversaries The envelops are not addressed. Some Ukrainian is written on an envelope in addition to Russian. It is a Ukrainian Communist Party Congress envelope.

Series consists of audio recordings. The content of the recordings varies, from the National Hymn of the Union of Soviet Socialistic Republic International performed by the choir and orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre, to the poem "Portrait of V.I.Lenin" by V. Mayakovski, narrated by Mikhail Astangov, to "Children's Favourite Songs" by various authors and singers.

33 rpm record, smaller in diameter than an LP, in a plastic sleeve and cardboard cover. Cover depicts drawings of children and birds in outdoor setting. One side has 7 songs; the other has 6. Biographical information about each of the songs' composers is on the back cover. It cost 90 kopecks.

Scrapbook with hand written text, compositioned with glued photographs of Lenin and printed text. There is a separate letter written in Russian by a pioneer dated May 20, 1970. It was written in Gera, Germany. The pioneer is grateful for the parcel and letter that they had received. They also describes their participation in the concert for Lenin's 100 anniversary, which included folk dancing, music, gymnastics and Russian poetry reciting about Lenin and the USSR. Most of the text is in German, with some Russian. The FDJ (Free German Youth) logo is featured on the last page along with Soviet and German flags.

Folder with a metal clip inside for holding pages with pinch holes. The title page reads: Chants. First part of folder contains printed song text. In the second part are drawings with short hand written poems. Some have glued pictures. Most of the text is Lithuanian, but there is also some Russian.

Verso: This attractive residence, owned by Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Barnett of Burnaby BC, earned an Award of Excellence for its designers Fred Thornton Hollingsworth and Barry Vance Downs in the recently concluded Canadian Wood Design Awards program of 1965. According to the judges, "traditional West Coast Materials, in the form of rough cedar boards, with carefully selected finishes, have provided an elegant and empathetic dwelling." The awards program was sponsored by the National Design Council and the Federal Department of Industry in association with the Canadian Wood council.

Canada Place, [Expo '86] is title of the article published in Canadian Architect in 1986 July, v.31, no.7, p.20-32. Article included aerial photo., site plans, photos., maps. Canada Place, situated on the downtown waterfront of Vancouver, British Columbia, opened in 1986 as the Canada Pavilion at Expo 86. It was later converted into the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre. The theme of Canada Place is nautical. The building adorns the downtown waterfront with a superstructure resembling a large ocean vessel, a powerful prow thrusting into the harbour and a roof line of five white sails.

Construction of the original skytrain line began on March 1, 1982 under the Social Credit government of Bill Bennett,who inaugurated the system at Waterfront Station. SkyTrain was conceived as a legacy project of Expo 86 and the first line was finished in 1985 in time to showcase the fair's theme: "Transportation and Communication: World in Motion ? World in Touch".SkyTrain opened on December 11, 1985 with free weekend service, and entered full revenue service on January 3, 1986.Commuter station; part of Greater Vancouver's Advanced Light Rapid Transit system. Folder consists of 4 black and white photographs of the Beaton Residence located in West Vancouver, B.C in
September 1971. The architect on the project was Arthur Mudry.

The folder consists of one black and white photograph of The Bedford Glen. The Bedford Glen (Annau Associates, 1976) is a remarkable ensemble that won several architectural awards. It's such a strange building, almost wedding-cake in its exuberance with those arches and a remarkable bridge spanning its units, underpasses, and overpasses, yet it holds together.

Folder consits of 6 black and white photographs of the Berkeley Private Hospital in White Rock B.C. The architect was Fred Thorton Hollingsworth who designed and built the building in 1961. The photographs seem to have been for a 1965 issue of Canadian Architect magazine.

This building features western Red Cedar as its main material and reveals it's flexibility. In the Blackcomb style, this material is extremely durable and can withstand the variable conditions of the mountain.

The two towers with a total area of 32,500m2 will house 294 units, including 8 luxury penthouse suites and an extensive recreation facility.

NATIONAL DESIGN AWARD 1969
This condominium housing - a pioneer of it's kind in BC, through the simple use of local materials and good siting achieves a very natural architectural character. The retention of treed areas, the consideration of grading for access, and siting for views, indicate the high degree of attention given to living considerations. The suites are well planned. The vertical stacking of the suites was necessitated by requirements in the early BC strata titles act concerning individual ownership which have since been changed. Good housing provided at a reasonable cost.

Mayor Roderick Finlayson's first objective after his election to office in January of 1878 was to erect a city hall. Overriding the opinions of the townsfolk who considered the whole idea an unnecessary extravagance, $10,000 was allocated and a competition announced for plans. The winner was John Teague. City Hall was to contain a corn market, surveyors' quarters, apartments for the assessor, a jail, a police court, a council chamber, committee rooms, and a museum gallery. The final form was a rectangular block, now comprising the south wing of the present City Hall. A good example of the Second Empire style, it is built in red brick with a tin mansard roof. The 1881 addition consisted of a small wing on the south-west corner for the Fire Department. In 1891 City Council approved a bylaw for the borrowing of $35,000 for the completion of the northeast addition. The new wing added to the existing building constitutes the present City Hall as it is seen today. In 1891, the main entrance was moved to the base of the tower block at the center of the Douglas elevation. The facade is divided into three bays, the projecting center bay carries the thrust of the 140-foot-tall brick and stone tower block. The entrance is further accented by a balustrade over the indented porch. On May 6, 1891, C.E. Redfern was awarded the contract for the installation of the clock which had been manufactured by Messrs. Gillet & Johnson of Croydon, Surrey, England. Four 500-pound dials each 706 inches in diameter and the 2,170 pound bell had to be lifted into place. The clock requires winding once a week. Since 1891 there have been no major alternations, except those connected with the Centennial Square project in 1963. At this time the interior was completely renovated and an International Style addition was constructed at the west end. This was carried out by the architectural firms of Wade, Stockdill, Armour & Partners and R.W. Siddall & Associates, under the direction of Rod Clack, city architectural consultant and director of special planning projects.

The focal point is a fountain, its balustraded rim reminiscent of pieces from Oscar Niemeyer's Brazilia scheme (1958), and the mosaic concrete totems by local artist J.C.S. Wilkinson. The fountain was a centennial gift to the City from neighbouring municipalities.

A winner of the Canadian Architect award of excellence in 1983, the Choklit Park Townhouse project comprises four townhouses on a 15 by 33m site. This site, which has a 15m vertical drop, overlooks downtown, False Creek and the North Shore mountains. Folder also contains 1 colour photograph taken of the Choklit Park Townhouses in October 1985.

The provincial law courts are housed in a building designed by well known architect Arthur Erickson who created a building with an incredibly massive glass roof. From the aerial view you can also see the equally large reflecting pond that stretches out above Smythe St. Many of the lawyers and judges have lunch at the restaurant that looks out over this water feature and is open to the general public.
Folder also includes a photographic print of the Habitat Pavilion from June 1980 issue of Canadian Architect magazine. The project received an honour award and was built by Arthur Erikson Architects. The owner of the building is the Government of Canada.

In the ensuing twenty years, the complex developed into three distinct but adjoining malls - Metropolis at Metrotown, Metrotown Centre, and Station Square. Today, Eaton Centre, Metrotown serves as the city?s commercial and retail anchor. Photographs of a styrofoam block designed to use in construction in place of concrete blocks, and another photo of a wall being constructed with composite materials designed by GemEng Group. Labels are attached to the photos.

Images in the exhbition featured the attic of the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. Fascinated by sites charged with history, German artist Dieter Appelt uses his examination of the attic to inquire into the invisible, mysterious, and indefinite forces of decay that lie beyond everyday experience. By concentrating on structural details, and by confronting the surfaces of the wooden beams, he has photographed the attic in such a way that it becomes a new reality, marked by the corrosive signs of passing time.
