Jonathon Li is an Assistant Professor of Geomatics Engineering with the Department of Civil Engineering at Ryerson University. Li received his PhD in geomatics engineering from the Unviersity of Cape Town, South Africe, in 2000. At Ryerson, Li has taught remote sensing, digital mapping, and terrain analysis courses since 2001. He is co-author of more than 60 refereed papers and was guest editor of special issues of the journals Geomatica and Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing. He has been Councilor of the Ontario Association of Remote Sensing, member of CIG, ASPRS, IEEE-GRSS, CASI-CRSS, and Co-Chair of the ISPRS WG IV/8 "Spatial Data Integration for Emergency Services" from 2004 to 2008. His research interests include cartographic object extraction from imagery, urban land use modeling and analysis under uncertainty, and environmental visualization.
