South Africa horse album

Red cloth cover with embossed gold design. Watermark and stains on cover. White pages with two window openings per page.
Photographs are mostly taken in South Africa. Included are photographs of De Aar, which at the time was the second-most important railway junction in the country. Photographs are mostly of horses on polo fields, some of people playing polo, some of trains and people with horses. There are also photographs of military and military camps, and a photograph at Vry Staat Hotel.

WWI family album

Brown cloth cover with gold embossed letters- "Photographs." Black pages with photographs mounted with glue. Notation on photo borders with black ink. Sewn binding. Photographs are mostly family snapshots of people, sometimes with automobiles or in uniform from the Northcote family. Also included are images of golfing, bridges, fishing, horse riding, camping, farms, cattle, sheep, chicken coops, horse drawn sleigh, the beach, trees, houses, dogs, trains, children, biking, deer and wagons. Three newspaper articles are pasted in. One about the Northcote family (mother, six sons and two daughters) all serving in the war, one about Pte. Wm. Clements dying in battle, and one of Corporal Northcote being the first Royal Engineer to be awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.

Bridge of Dresden

Pont de Dresde..." in french, and the last word is difficult to read. Sticker on the wood frame of a Y. Image is of a the Dresden Bridge in Dresden, Germany. It goes over the Elbe river.

RCAF WWII album

Blue cover with gold embossed letters- "Scrap Book." Bound with black string. White pages, photographs mounted photo corners or glue. Notation in black ink. Photographs are snapshots of people in front of buildings, street scenes, houses, streetcars, a transmitter station, soldiers, air force, Bolton Abbey, Bernard Castle, and other sites.
Other materials include a postcard of Robbins Drug Store in New Brunswick, five telegrams from Allan Jackson, four newspaper articles about wireless operators, three articles about women entering the Royal Canadian Air Force, a booklet from Westminster Abbey entitled "Westminster Memories," and eleven small souvenir picture cards featuring different interiors, a brochure called "What's on and Where to Go in Glasgow," a pamphlet about the Castle of Edinburgh, a letter from Allan Jackson to his wife Mrs. G.A. Jackson in Montreal, a map of London, a London Underground map, two London transport day tickets, and several pamphlets from various sites in London.

Summer Snapshots album

Item consists of an album with a black leather cover with the word Photographs embossed on the front in gold; bound with black string. Labels adhered to cover read "Jack's own snaps taken while at OAC & Summer trips North & to England 1939-1941" and "#10". Pages are black with labels handwritten in white ink. Black photo corners are used to hold the photographs. Many pages remain blank, appearing to have never had photographs attached. Some photographs are coming off pages.

Photographs are of from Jack's summer trips to England and while he was at OAC. They are amateur snapshots taken at various camps and lakes in Ontario. Canadian locations include Long Lac, Quebec Bridge and Belle Isle; sports, parades and other events in and around Toronto; Niagara Falls, New York; Hamilton and Bellville Ontario. British locations include Salisbury, Cardiff, London, Bristol, Edinburghand Glasgow.

Notable themes include early telescopes and cameras; portraits, Queenston Power Development, The Manchester Citizen [ship], Blenheim Bombers, Kenilworth Castle, Changing of the Guards, Big Ben, The Crown Jewels and Buckingham Palace, Napoleon's Tomb, the Eiffel Tower, the English Channel.

Additional material includes one "Vote Nixon" card attached to a page.

Dates include: spring 1937, spring 1939.

Bridge at Tragne

Lantern slide, glass B&W slide in wood frame. Image framed in black. Handwritten in black ink on the slide "4249 Le Pont a Tragne" in french. In pencil looks like "Bohemia" is written below the ink. Cannot be sure that it is Tragne or Fragne, no trace of either. Handwritten on a sticker on the wood frame "Bridge at Tragne." Image of a town with a bridge and statue in foreground. Looks to be the start of the bridge, big covered archway. In BLC (white sticker facing you), you can see the ghost of people walking. Cannot find where bridge is, as not sure to the correct spelling of its name.

Railroad Bridge by Moonlight

Lantern slide, glass slide in wood frame. Image area is circular as is the hole in the wood frame. Illustration is hand painted onto the glass. Printed on a sticker on wood frame "Express Train - Railroad Bridge by Moonlight." Illustration of a railway bridge over water, with a forest behind and the moon above. Unable to find reference to title on slide.

Florence, Ponte Vecchio

Matte print mounted on white paper, mounted on brown card with deckled edges. Depicts a river with bridge over it. The bridge has shops and buildings all the way across. Verso inscription, top left, in pencil: "N25. Florenz. Ponte Vechhio[sic]."
