The Ryerson Works newsletter is an online only publication published monthly starting in November of 2016 and is published monthly. The Human Resources sends hard copies of the newsletter to the Archives for preservation.

Your Work Life: keeping you connected, informed, engaged

The "Your Work Life" newsletter was re-vamped and the new edition was sent, via email, in June 2011. It became a quarterly publication in 2012, and hard copies of the newsletter were also available for departments and faculty's. This publication stopped publication in December of 2015. In February of 2016 a survey was sent to all employees on how they would like to see the newsletter improve.

People First Survey

The purpose of the People First Survey was for feedback of employee personal work experience at Ryerson with the goal of creating a progressive employee-oriented work environment. It was developed in conjunction with Ipsos Reid and a Ryerson Employee Survey Advisory Committee who's members were representatives from the CUPE, OPSEU, professional associations, senior leaders, Human Resources, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.

The survey was conducted online. This file consists of a printout from the online survey and communications regarding the survey.

Employment Equity Survey

The purpose of the Employment Equity Survey was taken under the provisions of the Federal Contractors Program (FCP) to quantify employee groups under Gender, Visible Minorities, Aboriginal Peoples, and People with Disabilities for the purpose of fair and equitable treatment. File includes two postcards on completing the employee Diversity Self-ID.

Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre

The Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre was established in 2005. Its mandate is to research the literary and cultural production in the modernist era (from 1880 to 1940), to preserve and advance modernist women’s heritage and to promote modern Canadian heritage within an international context. This fonds contains a collection of posters and brochures related to the activities of the MLCRC.

Ryerson Catholic Chaplaincy Centre

Ryerson Catholic Chaplaincy Centre (RCCC) was located at 64 McGill Street. The Centre had a website in 2009 but the URL was not functioning as of Jan. 2014, by which time the Ryerson Catholic Campus Ministry relocated to St. Michael's Cathedral, 200 Church Street.
The fonds contains printed promotional bookmarks and newsletters.

Ted Rogers Management Conference

File contains materials relating to the Ted Rogers Management Conference, including posters, pamphlets, thank-you cards, programme, wristband, collapsable water bottle, a pen, a pencil, and a bottle of hand sanitizer.
The conference was called the Ted Rogers Memorial Conference in 2010, its inaugural year. The following year, the name was changed to the Ted Rogers Management Conference.

File contains a DECA Ryerson pamphlet. DECA Ryerson helps students develop their analytical, presentation and networking skills through a variety of training sessions and networking events.

WITM is a student-run group focused within the Business Technology Management (BTM) program at Ryerson University that is committed to the advancement of women with an interest to pursue a career in IT Management.

File contains BizBudz posters. BizBudz offers a tutor registry service for business subjects.

Ryerson Marketing Association materials

File contains invitation cards to RMA (Ryerson Marketing Association) events. The RMA is a student-run organization dedicated to serving the interests of all marketing students at Ryerson University. It was established in 2006.

Ryerson Business Forum graphic materials

File contains photographs from the 2002 and the 2003 Ryerson Business Forums. Photographs consist of images taken during the speeches, and images of the speakers, students, and other participants in the Forums.

Ryerson Business Forum

Created in 1987, the Ryerson Business Forum is a student-run organization that is dedicated to enriching the learning experience at Ryerson. Under the guidance of faculty advisors, the Ryerson Business Forum directly exposes students to Canada's dynamic business environment. As of 2003, the Ryerson Business Forum falls under the umbrella of the Ryerson Commerce Society.
Sub-series consists of photographs, audio-visual materials, a speaker timeline, and Forum printouts.

SIFE materials

File contains materials related to SIFE Ryerson's activities. SIFE stands for Students in Free Enterprise. SIFE changed its name to Enactus in October 2012. Includes brochures, posters, and emails.

Series contains records relating to student groups under the umbrella of the Ryerson Commerce Society, including BizBudz, DECA Ryerson, Information Technology Management Student Association (ITMSA), Ryerson Business Forum, Ryerson Marketing Association (RMA), SIFE, and Women in Information Technology Management (WITM). Includes textual records and graphic materials.

Commerce Society orientation materials, 2009

File contains documents and materials from the 2009 Ryerson Commerce Society "The Real Frosh - Commerce Edition" orientation week. Includes bandanas, a T-shirt, hats, beads, wristbands, a bag, an attache case, temporary tattoos, assorted brochures and pamphlets, and a CD of photographs. Frosh colours were purple (leaders) and green (frosh). Yellow was used for accenting. Hats were used during the blacklight pub night at the Ram In the Rye. Beads were given out to those who demonstrated spirit. The bandanas were given out to denote the various frosh teams that were created for the week.

Commerce Society orientation materials, 2008

File contains materials from the 2008 Ryerson Commerce Society "Viva Las Frosh" orientation week. Includes a folder with frosh reward money, wristband, temporary tattoos, and five (5) pages of scanned colour images taken during Frosh Week. Also includes a laundry bag, a yellow bandana, and a blue Frosh T-Shirt. The Monopoly-type money is printed with images of the then-current Board of the Commerce Society: $500 - Cristina Jakimtschuk, President; Jordan Becker, VP Internal Relations; $100 - Justin Hein, VP Corporate Relations; $50 - Arsha Nofal, Director Business Management; Melua Chance, Director Hospitality & Tourism; Darren Ramersaud, Director ITM; Onah Osemeke, Director ITM; Rebecca Magee, Director Hospitality & Tourism; Rick Leitao, Director Retail Management; $20 - unknown. The money was given to frosh for various reasons during frosh events. On the last day, there was a silent auction where frosh could use their dollars to bid on items. Bandanas came in one of four colours and were handed out in frosh kits. The colour designated which team the student was on for the week.

The Ryerson Commerce Society (RCS) was officially created in 2003. It is a student-elected, student-run society representing all full-time undergraduate students attending the Ted Rogers School of Management. The RCS is also the umbrella organization for 29 student groups at the Ted Rogers School of Management. It annually hosts and supports various events and initiatives within the University community and around North America. The Society is comprised of a Board of Directors, consisting of nine directors and six executives.The directors represent the five schools at the Ted Rogers School of Management: Business Management, Information Technology Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Retail Management, and Accounting & Finance.
Record group contains textual records, graphic materials, a data CD containing photographs, and multiple items of ephemera from the Ryerson Commerce Society and various student groups within the RCS.

File contains invitations for Ann Mackay, in her role as Manager of the Ceremonials office, to a variety of Ryerson Student Award ceremonies.

Sheldon Levy farewell party/President's Holiday party

File contains material relating to the Sheldon Levy farewell held during the annual President's Holiday Party at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Included in the file is a schedule of events for the farewell portion of events, and 4 copies of the song written about Sheldon Levy, like the 12 days of Christmas but the 10 years of Sheldon Levy, performed by a choir and audience.
