Black cover album with black pages bound by black braided string. The word "Photographs" is embosed on front cover in gold lettering. Photographs held in with black photo corners.

Photographs are mostly family snapshots, on the beach, at home, having a picnic and by the lake; some include domestic animals. Some photographs taken Ottawa, and Niagara Falls, and at Balboa Island, California, among other destinations.

Photo stores include Thompson's Camera and Art Store.
Date on the back of a loose photograph says "Apr. / 30".

Item is a brown cabinet card with gold edging and black letterpress at bottom, "Pittaway & Jarvis./ 117 Sparks Street,/ Ottawa, Ont." Photograph is printed with a rounded frame, showing two men seated on a lawn, each holding umbrellas, in front of a studio backdrop. They pass a cabinet card between them. On verso, in black letterpress, "First Prize, Silver Medal,/ Provincial Exhibition, 1884-1887./ From/ Pittaway & Jarvis/ Photographic ARTISTS/ 117 Sparks Street/ OTTAWA/ All Negatives Kept./ Copies or Englargements can be had/ at any time." In pencil, at aupper right, "4.50".

Portrait of a young man in velvet and lace suit

Item is a white carte-de-visite featuring a full length portrait photograph of a young man dressed in velvet suit jacket trimmed in lace with matching trousers that cut above the knee and have been extended down with a long lace frill. Black stockings complete what was typically a child's dress costume known as a Fauntleroy suit. He stands in front of a studio backdrop showing a doorway, and at his feet the base of a headrest is visible behind him. On verso, an elaborate lithographed design in green with the text "DORION & DELORME/ PHOTOGRAPHERS/ D & D/ 140 SPARKS ST./ OTTAWA./ ONTARIO." Someone has drawn through the image with blue pen in a zig-zag.

Portrait of a boy in sailor suit with shovel

Item is a white card with textured surface and a portrait of a young boy in a sailor style suit and hat, seated on the edge of a wicker chair and holding a shovel. At the bottom of the card, embossed in gold, with a geometric design, "A. G. PITTAWAY/ 58 SPARKS ST./ OTTAWA." Following the text, a design with three gold medals is embossed into the bottom right corner, reading "WORLDS/ COLUMBIAN/ EXHIBITION/ CHICAGO/ 1893" and "EXHIBITION JAMAICA 1891" and "-RDED/ -RPIZE/ -ARIS/ -889".

Item is a white card with raised oval photograph of a woman with her long hair loose on her shoulders. On verso, photographer's stamp in a ribbon design lithographed in gold, "THE NOTMAN STUDIO,/ W. J. TOPLEY, Prop./ OTTAWA." A crown with three feathers tops the design, the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales. At the top of the card, handwritten in blue ink, "Jessie Freelane".

Item consists of a grey card with oval photograph of a woman in white dress with large bouquet of roses pinned to the right side of the chest. She wears a several feathers in her hair from which falls a long veil. On verso, a design lithographed in brown with square corners, arches, cherubs and decorative interlace with the text "MOPLEY/ PHOTOGRAPHER BY APPOINTMENT TO/ HIS EXCELLENCY/ THE MARQUIS OF LORNE/ AND/ Her Royal Highness/ THE PRINCESS LOUISE./ 132 SPARKS ST./ OTTAWA". Handwritten in black ink at the top edge, "Mrs. W. E. Haskell/ Feb 9 1900". At very top right, in pencil, "79081".

Item is a cream coloured cabinet card with image of a woman in tall straw hat and bustled gown leaning in a doorway with a child in single-breasted jacket holding a straw boater seated in hay at her knees. Flowers are painted onto the faux-stone wall of the studio scene. At bottom, in gold letterpress, "Wallis." and at right "PHOTOGRAPHER/ 61 SPARKS STREET, OTTAWA."

Item is a cream coloured card with photograph of a boy seated in a studio setting. At the bottom of the card, in gold letterpress: "H. D. Wallis, Photographer, 61 SPARKS STREET OTTAWA". On verso, elaborate design in gold ink repeating the photographer's name and studio address, along with a handwritten note and negative number. A cartoon of two Chinese (?) men appear in the lower left of the design. The card design was provided by Free Press Print, Ottawa.

Item is a white card with vignetted portrait of a young woman. On verso, an elaborate printed design featuring celtic-style scrollwork, cherubs with paint and canvas or a cornucopia. The photographer's name is given as "TOPLEY" with an address at "104 SPARKS ST/ OTTAWA". In the centre, text identifies the photographer as "PHOTOGRAPHER BY APPOINTMENT TO/ HIS EXCELLENCY/ THE MARQUIS OF LOFANE(Sic)/ AND/ HER ROYAL HIGHNESS/ THE PRINCES LOUISE."
