Maple Leaf Gardens

Aerial view of the yellow brick arena with large dome, built in 1931, located at 438 Church Street in Toronto. It was home ice for the Toronto Maple Leafs (Hockey team) until 1999. It was purchased by Loblaw Companies in 2004 and in 2009 it was announced that a portion of the arena would be used for Ryerson University althletics, thanks in part to federal government contribution.

This photograph was taken to illustrate an article in Canadian Architect magazine's December 1983 issue. Architects Vecsei and Panzini were given an Award of Excellence for their proposal to redevelop the mansion for commercial use while preserving the original structure.

One of the photographs has text printed at the lower margin reading " 'Man and Flight' is the theme of Air Canada's striking red and white pavilion at Expo. Plywood-clad cantilevered blades fan out from a central support column to form a dramatic roof." The verso of that photograph is stamped "Plywood Manufacturers of B.C. Photograph".

File consists of Kodak employee portraits. Adhered to the verso of each are labels that indicate the images were for Kodak Canada In Focus, April 1981, Vol. 27 No. 4. Subject info for the portraits read: "Mary Rowntree has 10 years of service pg. 6", "Kodak lawn bowler displays his winning medals over the years. pg. 6", "Vida Lainson has 40 years service. pg. 5", "George Lugsoin put in 41 years of service. pg. 5", "Winnie Tomlinson has 25 yrs service pg. 5", "Alec Young has 40 yr service pg. 5". Portraits include Ron Eaton, "Carmela", Sharon Reid. The final image in this file is a smaller photograph of a road sign, with a label included that reads "Road sign of Photography Drive. pg. 2" and is from the same issue of In Focus.

File contains a collection of snapshots, all with borders and some with bevelled edges, that feature images from a gathering of young adults at someone's home or cottage. Additionally, there are images of employees inside a warehouse and office building. A photographer's stamp on the verso of many of the images reads: "W. P. File consists of 58 theatre programs published by the Alumnae Theatre Company from the years 1968, 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1979, 1980 and 1990. The University Alumnae Dramatic Club was founded in 1919 by women graduates of the University of Toronto. When the company became unaffiliated with the university, they changed their name to the Alumnae Theatre Company. They originally held their plays in the Hart House Theatre, then the Coach House Theatre, and now Firehall No. 4, also known as Firehall Theatre.

File consists of 28 theatre programs published by the Canadian Stage Company from the years 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005. The Canadian Stage Company was founded in 1988 through the merger of CentreStage and Toronto Free Theatre. They currently hold their performanes in 3 theatres in Toronto.
