Dr. Robert Bothwell, Professor of History at the University of Toronto, has written exten-sively on Canadian history and international relations. His most recent publications are Pirouette, on Cana¬dian foreign policy under Trudeau, Canada and the United States, and The Big Chill: Canada and the Cold War.
Dr. Margaret MacMillan is Provost, Trinity College, University of Toronto and Professor of History. A member of the executive of the Canadian Institute of International Relations, and editor of the International Journal. She has written on Indian history (Women of the Raj) and international relations. Her most recent publication is the internationally acclaimed Paris 1919.

COCR 940 Sustainability: Canadian and Global Views. Prof. David Bell Sustainability is an approach to decision-making which integrates environments and social concerns into business and economic decisions and plans the welfare of future generations while attempting to meet the needs of the present generation. This course will focus on international dimensions of sustainability and the role of Canadian development assistance in helping other countries respond to the challenge of sustainability. It will also explore Canadian responses to sustainability issues. This course features a series of case studies of development projects in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

Topics include principles of learning and memory, the brain and behaviour, human emotions, the nature of personality, and psychological disorders. Late adulthood is a time of personal change filled with new opportunities and old apprehensions. This course addresses the changes that occur with advancing age, their impact on people’s behaviour, and how people respond to this life stage. Students will acquire an increased appreciation of the issues that confront people making the transition from middle to old age by examining the broad range of factors that contribute to successful aging from a psychological perspective.
