Running from 1936 to 1955, Kodak was a bimonthly internal publication designed to communicate the activities of Canadian Kodak and its employees.

The full lineage of internal publications for Kodak Canada employees ran as follows: At Kodak Heights was succeeded by Kodak in 1936. In 1955, the name was changed to Canadian Kodakery. In 1975, the name was changed again to Kodak Canada News. In 1986, this publication was succeeded by In Focus; and in 1994, the name changed again to its final title, Kodakery Canada.

"Published in the interests of the men and women of the Kodak organization." File includes: vol. 1, no. 2 (July 1920) to vol. 12, no. 2/3 (July/Aug. 1931). Some issues missing.

File includes nine issues of Kodakery, a publication for current and former employees of Eastman Kodak Company, published in 1958 and between 1995 and 2005. In addition to five regular issues, file includes: one issue (Jul. 31, 1958) with the title Kodakery: a newspaper for the men and women of Kodak; two special issues (Spring 1996[?] and Sept. 2005) and two issues specifically for retirees (Jan. 26, 2000 and Dec. 2004).

File consists of bound and unbound issues of Studio Light, published by Eastman Kodak Company, from 1914 at 1932 and from 1975 to 1988. The publication was targeted toward professional photographers. Some issues missing.

File consists of typescript notes detailing the day-to-day operations of Kodak Canada. The notes were compiled on an ongoing basis by the company historian from January 4, 1964 to January 28, 1984. Subject matter pertains to all aspects of the company's corporate life, including plant construction, corporate policies, production schedules and procedures, employee activities, and more.

File includes annual reports published by Eastman Kodak Company in 1902 and from 1955 to 2007. Some reports include the notice of the annual meeting, proxy statement, and shareholder letters. File is missing annual reports from 1956, 1963, and 1985.

File contains scripts of addresses delivered by Kodak Canada president and general manager, Ronald C. Morrison, in 1988 and 1992. Addresses include: "KCI 1988 management report" delivered on March 10, 1988; "Kodak Canada analysts presentation" delivered at the annual general meeting on May 11, 1988"; and "New compacts for Canadian competitiveness" delivered on March 25, 1992. The latter address refers to a report of the same name published by Kodak Canada Inc. and is accompanied by biographies, in English and French, of Morrison and of the report's authors, Joseph R. D'Cruz and Alan M. Rugman.

File contains job procedures and reference materials used by members of the Kodak Canada department handling Ektaprint copier-dupicators ca. 1975. File includes procedures for adding or making changes to the department's customer database, transporting equipment, prospecting new clients, and others. Also includes lists of copier equipment codes, and other ephemera.

File consists of three cardboard slipcases containing human resources brochures published between 1980 and 1988 as reference material for Kodak Canada employees. File also includes generic corporate letters welcoming employees to Kodak Canada and providing further information about employee benefits.

File contains: pamphlets produced for the first three Kodak Athletic Association annual picnics (1919-1921), as well as 1 leaf from the March 1945 issue of Kodak magazine (vol.1, no. 2) showing photos of the Kodak Heights badminton club and softball team.

File contains records related to the Kodak Heritage Collection and Museum's travelling exhibitions held at the Calgary Stampede and the Canadian National Exhibition in July and August 1999, as well as events at the Calgary Zoo, the Vancouver Aquarium, and the Tour de Montréal in October 1999. File includes: notes and correspondence; invitations; exhibition text; floorplans and other diagrams; photocopied images; installation views; and other ephemera. The content of the travelling exhibition was a redacted version of the Past Preserved, Future Defined exhibition installed at Kodak Heights in June of the same year.

Includes photocopies of camera catalogues and inventories; articles on the history of York; timelines of photographic history; order forms for and information on photography reference books; and information on George Eastman House, Rochester. Because the Museum was closely associated with the Corporate Communications department, a similar file of Communication Reference Material was likely also consulted by employees of the Museum.

The first image, Burgess & Seymour, a study in black and white, depicts two Canadian Kodak employees, one identified as draftsman F.A. Seymour and the other as R. Ainslee Burgess. They performed a skit originally performed in the Canadian Kodak Minstrel Show of February 17-18, 1921, which was, according to an included clipping, repeated at a bazaar held by the Toronto Technical School. The skit consists of two easels, on which the two performers have drawn sketches of different Kodak girls. One of the performers (Burgess) is in blackface, as part of the Minstrel variety show performed during the 1920's by Kodak employees as part of the Kodak Athletics Association (KAA) activities.

The second image is a group portrait of the Kodak minstrel troupe consisting of 29 men in black face and their accompanying 7 musicians and conductor. They performed at the same event as Burgess and Seymour, February 1921.

Minstrel shows are a style of variety show, most popular during the late 19th and early 20th century, in which white performers use make-up and costumes to depict racist and stereotypical caricatures of Black people. The genre originated in the United States, but Canada had its own troupes and touring companies, and the format was popular with schools, community groups, and religious organizations.

Azo is a silver chloride contact printing paper originally produced by Photo Materials Company of Rochester, NY. This latter company was purchased by Kodak in 1898, which then began producing and distributing Azo paper under its own name.

File consists of miscellaneous Kodak print advertisements from roughly 1907 to 2000. Contains advertisments clipped from magazines--including advertisements from National Geographic Magazine from 1938 to 1963--as well as stand-alone prints ads.

Much of the file consists of Kodak Canada's Talking Points/Point de Vue initiative, an internal communication system designed to quickly disseminate information throughout the organization. File also includes notes for regional visits, notes and transpariencies for an Image Check meeting from January 20, 1995 and an SGM IS managers meeting from April 26, 1995, and other materials. Topics include Kodak Canada's history, organization, strategic vision, quality policy, customer satisfaction measures, operating efficiency, and revenues.

File contains miscellaneous overviews and histories of Kodak, written and used as reference material by Kodak Canada's communications department between 1958 and 2004. Includes brief background accounts and "fast facts," as well as "Kodak Canada Milestones" documents, which provide year-to-year accounts of Kodak Canada's activities. Most documents provide general corporate information, but some cover more specific topics, including the Ryerson Chair in Photography, Kodak's Toronto Expansion Program, the history of the Kodak camera, Kodak's offices in Quebec, Ottawa, and Edmonton, and the history of the Kodak Heights Power House (building #1). Many of the histories were written by Mel Rubinstein, Company Information Specialist, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Corporate histories in this file appear to have been written retroactively and can thus be differentiated from Kodak Canada's "Corporate History Notes," which were written on an ongoing basis and provided day-to-day accounts of the company's life.

File contains records pertaining to an event held to honour descendants of John G. Palmer, Canadian Kodak's first president. The event was held in building # 9 of Kodak Heights on May 2, 1999.
