Journalism Building

File contains photographs of the former Archdiocese of Toronto Chancery building at 55 Gould Street. Starting in 1979, Ryerson rented the space to house the School of Journalism. They remained in this location until the early 1990s when the School moved into the Rogers Communications Centre. Also in the file is a picture of the Journalism newsroom in the new location.

"Dialogue with the Giants" Journalism conference

File contains photographs taken by Ryerson employee Jerry Davey at the "Dialogue with the Giants" journalism conference at Ryerson. Included in the photographs are the big name newspeople including Richard Gwyn, Barbara Amiel, Allan Fotheringham, Sydney Gruson, Jeffrey Simpson, Peter Jennings, Peter Mansbridge, Morley Safer, Robert MacNeill, Barbara Frum, Henry Champ, and Peter Gzowski. The event raised money, through ticket sales, for the Committee for the Protection of Journalists, an international organization the helps journalists who face imprisonment abroad.
Photographs are of the panel discussions and one group photograph of all the participants.
