Portrait of a man and two women

Item consists of a grey card with oval photograph of a man with dark suit and hat seated at centre, with two women standing behind him, each holding a pair of gloves. The woman on the left wears a checkered blouse with plain dark skirt, and the blouse is puffed out in the "S" curve fashion. The woman on the right wears a dark coloured dress with matching belt and a velvet(?) collar. At bottom right, embossed, "Jas. Mason/ PENETANG &/ ELMVALE".

[3 Women and a Man on a Lock]

Item consists of three black and white photographs of three women and a man on a lock. In each of the photographs, the women and man stand and sit in different configurations. They are perched against the lock's crank, and behind them is the lock and water. In the background there are some trees. The women are dressed is dresses and skirts, and the man is wearing a suit and tie. They look relaxed and are all wearing hats. Two of the photographs show only part of the faces of the people. It seems as though the photographer shot them too low, so parts of them are cut out of the frame. Each photograph is surrounded by an uneven white border. On the back of each photograph is handwritten in pencil the number "8", and on one of the photographs in brown pen is "July 12 / 19"

[Woman and two girls in the roots of a tree]

Item consists of a sepiatone image of a woman and two girls sitting in the roots of a felled tree. The woman is wearing a coat and a hat with a broach and a long scarf. The girl in the foreground wears a black hat and a coat. A second girl peeks out from a hole in the roots in the midground of the photograph. There is a white boarder surrounding the image. The back of the photographed is stamped with the numbers "0480" in blue ink. The photo was printed on Velox photographic paper, invented by Leo Baekeland and sold to Eastman Kodak. Velox was the first commercially successful photo paper.

[Portrait of a Young Woman]

Item consists of a sepiatoned black and white portrait of a young woman. The portrait is circular with a soft edge. The woman has her hair tied up around her head and is looking off to the left. She is wearing a black dress with a white lace collar and a long necklace that falls out of the frame. The photograph is housed a card. The card is yellowed with an embossed emblem on the top left on the front. Also on the front, on the bottom right, is the name of the photographer "A.R. Ward 289 Yonge St. Toronto". 289 Yonge Street is located right at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto. There is a translucent paper inside the card to further protect the photograph.

[Portrait of a Boy]

Item consists of a black and white photograph of a young boy. The young boy is wearing a formal suit and tie, and is looking off to the right. The photograph was shot in H.E. Peagam's studio in Toronto, Ontario. H.E. Peagam was photographer that had a studio at 32 Temperance Street in Toronto in 1893, and one at 254 Yonge Street in Toronto 1901 - 1922. The portrait of the boy is cut into an oval (measuring approx. 5 x 7 cm) and has a small even white border. The oval photograph is pasted onto a black piece of card measuring 9.25 x 13.25 cm. On the bottom right of the card is embossed with "H.E. Peagam, Toronto, ONT"

Item consists of a photograph of a woman in a very plain wide-collared blouse with large buttons up the front. The image is vignetted against a dark background. The photograph is mounted flush with a postcard backing. On verso, the text "POST CARD" is followed by a line delineating space for "CORREPSONDENCE" on the right and "ADDRESS ONLY" on the left.

Soldiers on city street

Item consists of a grey card with photograph affixed. Image of an army regiment at attention, standing ont he sidewalk of a city street with a building advertising "THE/ T.S. FORD C-/ LIMITED/ DEPARTMENT/ STORE" behind the troops. Handwritten in blue ink are the names of many of the soldiers, with arrows pointing to the respective persons.

Item consists of a grey card with white paper border around photograph of a young boy, 10 years old, wearing a suit jacket, high white collar, striped bowtie and a chain and kerchief in his pocket. File consists of Kodak employee portraits. Adhered to the verso of each are labels that indicate the images were for Kodak Canada In Focus, May 1981, Vol. 27 No. 5. Subject info for the portraits read: "Don Thompson has 25 years service", "Al Williamson has 25 years service", "Max Wagner has 25 years service", and "Tom Penman was honoured by the Society of Management Accounts of Ontario".

File consists of Kodak employee portraits. Adhered to the verso of each are labels that indicate the images were for Kodak Canada In Focus, April 1981, Vol. 27 No. 4. Subject info for the portraits read: "Mary Rowntree has 10 years of service pg. 6", "Kodak lawn bowler displays his winning medals over the years. pg. 6", "Vida Lainson has 40 years service. pg. 5", "George Lugsoin put in 41 years of service. pg. 5", "Winnie Tomlinson has 25 yrs service pg. 5", "Alec Young has 40 yr service pg. 5". Portraits include Ron Eaton, "Carmela", Sharon Reid. The final image in this file is a smaller photograph of a road sign, with a label included that reads "Road sign of Photography Drive. pg. 2" and is from the same issue of In Focus.
