Administrative history

A.B. Thom (1849-1926) was a photographer born in Stratford, Ontario who established his first photographic partnership in Winnipeg with Fred V. Bingham in 1883. The partnership dissolved by 1885, when he began travelling along the Canadian Pacific Railway, where he captured over 2000 views.

Item is a cream cabinet card with gold letterpress at bottom, "Thom Winnipeg." Photograph shows two children in front of a painted backdrop, depicting a lake and trees. The boy holds a straw hat and the girl is seated on a wooden chair made of twigs. Another straw hat leans against the chair.
