Expo 67 Mini Album

Item is a photo album with a blue binding and a mostly blue and red cover. Item contains images of a number of different pavilions at Expo '67 for various countries and organizations, artworks, ceremonies and activities, and provides a short write up in French and English on each.

Lantern Slides, Ships

Two slides feature two ships: in one slide the boat sails peacefully along the water in Newfoundland, and in the other slide a boat is caught in a storm. In the third slide, a crew is working on either loading or unloading a boat and crew members are busy working.

Cavalry (Albumen, Kodak No. 1 print)

Item is a mounted albumen print on paper manufactured by Kodak and likely taken using the Kodak No. 1 camera, which came pre-loaded with film. When all 100 exposures had been made by the consumer, the entire camera was sent back to the Kodak company for prints to be made, and the camera to be reloaded. The Kodak No. 1 produced circular snapshots.
The image depicts a man seated on a horse, surrounded by onlookers with bicycles. Inscription on the reverse reads "Cavalry [illeg] Park West".

Tru-Vue viewer box set (Tru-Vue company)

Item is a brown plastic 3D viewer built with a push-down lever between the lenses. The lever is designed to rotate a reel containing three-dimensional black and white 35 mm acetate film manufactured by Tru-Vue Company. Images are inserted through the slot on the left side of the lenses. Item comes with square plastic windows to illuminate backs of transparencies on view. Once the film is circulated, it rewinds itself on the right hand side of the viewer. Item comes in original box with 6 original films depicting the Golden Gate Exposition and San Francisco’s major landmarks. Item also comes with original pink catalogue explaining how to use the Tru-Vue and how to order new film, as well as a business card for True-Vue Inc, that is also an order form. Blue cover with gold embossed letters- "Scrap Book." Bound with black string. White pages, photographs mounted photo corners or glue. Notation in black ink. Photographs are snapshots of people in front of buildings, street scenes, houses, streetcars, a transmitter station, soldiers, air force, Bolton Abbey, Bernard Castle, and other sites.
Other materials include a postcard of Robbins Drug Store in New Brunswick, five telegrams from Allan Jackson, four newspaper articles about wireless operators, three articles about women entering the Royal Canadian Air Force, a booklet from Westminster Abbey entitled "Westminster Memories," and eleven small souvenir picture cards featuring different interiors, a brochure called "What's on and Where to Go in Glasgow," a pamphlet about the Castle of Edinburgh, a letter from Allan Jackson to his wife Mrs. G.A. Jackson in Montreal, a map of London, a London Underground map, two London transport day tickets, and several pamphlets from various sites in London.

The industrial building and offices has a steel frame, bolted in the factory area, and bolted and welded in the office area. The curtain wall of windows in the office area is accented by exposed exterior columns. This architectural detail (the columns) was originally developed by the architects for a school building, to aid in the addition of a second storey. The building has concrete floors throughout and a steel roof deck.

Interior and exterior views during construction and after completion. Construction view printed in Nov 1983 issue of Canadian Architect magazine, while full article was published in Nov 1984. An interior view of mezzanine was used as the cover image for that 1984 issue as well.

Rogers Centre (SkyDome)

Photographs of the architect's model and illustrations for the SkyDome, a covered convertible dome over a baseball field and entertainment stadium. Artist's illustrations of proposed designs from The Webb Zerafa Menkes Housdon Partnership and The Robbie/Adjeleian/Norr Consortium. Later photographs show the construction of the dome, and an aerial view of hte site. The building was renamed the Rogers Centre in 2005.

Canada Place, [Expo '86] is title of the article published in Canadian Architect in 1986 July, v.31, no.7, p.20-32. Article included aerial photo., site plans, photos., maps. Canada Place, situated on the downtown waterfront of Vancouver, British Columbia, opened in 1986 as the Canada Pavilion at Expo 86. It was later converted into the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre. The theme of Canada Place is nautical. The building adorns the downtown waterfront with a superstructure resembling a large ocean vessel, a powerful prow thrusting into the harbour and a roof line of five white sails.
