Muriel Margaret Miller was born on September 15, 1908 in Hartland, New Brunswick. She graduated with a B. A. from the University of New Brunswick in 1931, and her M. A. from the University of Toronto in 1933. She is best known for her work on Bliss Carman. In 1931 she received the Douglas Gold Medal for her essay on Carman, and in 1936 she achieved an honorable mention from the Canadian Women's Press Club for her biography, BLISS CARMAN: A PORTRAIT (1935). Her works have been published under the names Muriel Miller, and Muriel Miner, after her marriage to Julian Miner. She died in Peterborough, Ontario on April 4, 1987.
