Biographical history
Marie Truelove is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geographic Analysis at Ryerson University. Truleove earned her BA from Queen's University, Kingston, and her MA and PhD from the University of Toronto. She joined the faculty of Applied Geography in 1971. Beginning in 1999, Truelove was the first Director of the University's Master of Spatial Analysis Program. She has served as Chair of the board of Ryerson's Centre of Excellence for Research on Immigration and Settlement (CERIS). Her research focuses on location patterns of social services, nonprofit sector, volunteers, and patterns of immigrant settlement using GIS. She retired to Emeritus status in 2004.
