Biographical history
Jurgen Lutz is an artist, filmmaker, illustrator, and set designer based in Toronto, Ontario. Lutz earned a certificate from the Heinrich Zernack Schule in Berlin and became a professor in the faculty of Film and Photography at Ryerson from 1970 to 1996. During his tenure at Ryerson, he was the Program Director of Media Arts from 1989 to 1993 and of New Media Continuing Education from 1993 to 1996. Lutz' art has shown in exhibitions across North America and in Europe. He has contributed to or created films for the CBC, Telefilm Canada, and the Art Gallery of Ontario. He is currently a Professor Emertus at Ryerson University.
