Biographical history

John Sebert was a film and television director, producer and photographer. Sebert graduated from the Ryerson Photographic Arts program in 1951 and is best known as director of the 1966 comedy short film, The Scribe, starring Buster Keaton in his final role before his death. He also directed the 1986 documentary short film, Journey of Discovery, as well as numerous television commercials. He worked as a photographer for Chatelaine and for various catalogues, including the Eaton's catalogue.

Fonds includes colour and black-and-white phtographic prints and negatives documenting Ryerson campus, as well as faculty and students in the Photographic Arts program.
