Series contains information on the collaboration between Ryerson's Continuing Education division and Provinicial (later renamed Ontario) Home Support Services.
What was initially planned as a single conference evolved into a series of conferences. This material has been kept under one series but has been separated by year or subject matter.

Darkroom and printing equipment series

Series contains a variety of objects used in the development of film and the production of photographic prints using chemicals and light sensitive paper. Items include film developing tanks, developing trays, lighting systems, filter kits, paper easels, and enlargers.

This series contains textual, moving image, and data records related to The International Academic Congress "Filmbuilding.99 - Devices and Delicacies of Film Design", which was hosted at Ryerson. Includes conference program, periodicals, posters, grant applications, organization committee meeting minutes, promotional materials, correspondence, and financials.

Series contains various textual records generated by Jack Layton during the course of his political and academic career.

Community Relations photographs - head shots

A collection of black and white photographs and negatives of individuals (head shots) maintained by the Community Relations Department, formerly the Information Services Department, and then the University Advancement Office. The majority of the images are of faculty and staff. The photographs were primarily used for reproduction in the Ryerson publication "FORUM".

Series consists of workbooks and training materials related to Art Cooper's time at Honeywell Controls Ltd. as the Training Director.

Series contains various promotional items carrying the Kodak logo, including pens, key-chains, posters, mugs, and a visor. These were collected by former Kodak employee Mary Bowman during her tenure with the company.

Series contains materials found piled on shelving units. No original order was apparent other than having come from the office of Ron Shirtliff. The materials are from his time as Faculty reprentative and member of the Executive Council of the Board of Governors.

After viewing materials it was discerned that the best course of action was to sort material by Ryerson President and then organize chronologically by their time in office.
The series has been divided into sub-series by President from 1948 to 1980. Presidents were: Howard Hillen Kerr, Fred Jorgenson, Anthony Wilkinson, Donald L. Mordell, George Korey and Walter G. Pitman.

Ontario Statutes relating to Ryerson University

Series includes Ontario statutes relating to the establishment of Technical and Polytechnical Institute, The Ryerson Act and amendments, and the establishment of CAATs (Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology). Also included in the file are newspaper clippings relating to the Ryerson Act.

After viewing materials it was discerned that the best course of action was to maintain existing files, arrange loose papers with file numbers into order by file number, and arrange by topic for those items that have no file numbers.

RYESERT - Ryerson Student Emergency Response Team

RyeSERT (Ryerson Student Emergency Response Team) is a volunteer based student group that provides on-site medical coverage at Ryerson events and in all Ryerson residences. RyeSERT is made up of students with backgrounds as firefighters, paramedics, first responders, lifeguards, and those just interested in serving the Ryerson community with a genuine desire to help others.

Series contains records and artifacts related to the Ryerson Student Emergency Response Team.

File contains agenda, meeting minutes, committee notes, meeting notices, and other materials relating to the Board of Directors of the Ryerson Union. Majority of the material is from 1971.

Series contains records received from D. Gillies upon his retirement and the deactivation of his Ryerson office. Includes correspondence, minutes and appendixes, reports, academic papers, academic planning documents, notes, clippings, etc.

After viewing materials it was discerned that the best course of action was to maintain the material in their original file folders and sort the loose materials accordingly.
Materials include meeting minutes, correspondence, curriculum documents, RFA materials, memos, Principal/President's newsletters, and a large file on Educational Television. There is a lot of cross related materials that came in a later donation in 2003 from Donald Gillies.

Educational television

Series contains records pertaining to Educational Television and its role in Canada and at Ryerson.

Reports

Series contains reports that Marvyn Novick wrote, and helped wrote as part of various committees. Included in the series is a two part report by the Social Planning Council of Metropolitan Toronto to which Marvyn was the author and project director for these projects. The series also contains a report "Children at Risk" preliminary report from the Children at Risk sub-committee of the Laidlaw foundation, to which Marvyn was a member of the sub-committee.

Photographic chemicals series

Series contains a variety of chemicals used in the development of photographic film and paper and the processing of photographic prints. Items include toning chemicals, developing chemicals and print retouching tools.

Eric A. Campbell series

Series consists of materials collected by Eric A. Campbell when he attended the Training and Re-establishment Institute, taking a course in Horology. It is a unique donation as when he started his coursework it was the Training and Re-establishment Institute and completed the course at Ryerson Institute of Technology.

Series contains audio cassette recordings of lectures and workshops given by photographers, filmmakers, critics and historians in the Image Arts Department at Ryerson University as part of their 1981-1982 lecture series. 2 events, Eugene Richards' February 11th lecture and Bruce Elder's March 5th-7th performance workshop do not have audio recordings available.

Series contains audio recordings of talks given by photographers as part of a series entitled "Photographers Speak", which took place in Rochester NY in 1982. Speakers included: Anthony Barboza, Lillian Bassman, Scott Hyde, Nathan Lyons, Martha Madigan, Nile Root, Henry Holmes Smith, Keith Smith, and John Wood.
