Sub-series contains plans and blueprints of Kodak factories and facilities in Ontario including : early blueprints and schematics for the King Street plant, approval drawings and area plans for the Kodak Heights facility showing buildings 1, 3,5, and 8, and detailed blueprints relating to the construction of Kodak Brampton Paper Finishing Plant, Building #35. Subject terms have been used to indicate Kodak site locations in Ontario, specifically the King street, Brampton and Kodak Heights operations.

Item is a blueprint showing the Kodak Heights property in 1930, including Eglinton and Yonge streets in Weston-Mount Denis area. The blueprint, created by the Ontario & Quebec Railway Co. and its lessee the Canadian Pacific Railway Co., outlines railway car clearances required for proposed additional buildings, number 5 and 8.

Kodak Heights photograph albums

File contains six photograph albums documenting the development of the Kodak Heights property and the construction of the first Kodak Heights buildings during 1913-1916. These albums are consistent in their presentation and physical characteristics, including bindings, construction, and gelatin silver prints and includes inscribed captions in the lower right corner with the title and dates.

Each album is organized by building or site with indexed tabs to indicate the building or construction project. Prints are arranged chronologically within each section, presenting a detailed progression of the building projects from start to finish. Kodak Heights buildings documented include: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 as well as site projects including reservoirs, chimney, sewage disposal, trunk sewage, tunnels, plant nursery. Highlights include a series of images of the Canadian Battalion at Kodak Heights during WWI.

Several images are printed from the glass plate negatives in the collection.

Each gelatin silver photograph is the same size and contains an inscribed caption in the lower right corner of each print. Highlights include a series of images on the Canadian Battalion at Kodak Heights, an image of a sign announcing the new Kodak Heights facilities, and images of the construction of Kodak Heights building no. 1 as well as other site projects. Records pertaining to inspections, insurance, and safety compliance

File includes correspondence, inspection reports, and technical drawings related to plant safety and risk assessment from 1913 to 1940. Correspondents include: Canadian Kodak Co., Ltd., Eastman Kodak Company, the Bureau of Explosives (Toronto), various contractors, the Mount Dennis Volunteer Fire Department, and the Associated Factory Mutual Fire Insurance Companies. This latter company performed detailed inspections for insurance purposes on Kodak Heights buildings before and during construction. Topics include: outfitting Kodak Heights with sprinkler systems, fire alarms, water supplies and oxygen masks, storage and handling of magnesium and its alloys, and storage and transport of cellulose nitrate film. File also includes a preliminary inspector's report on the fire that occurred in Building #3 of Kodak Heights on November 17, 1914.
