File consists of photographs featuring images of children. Many are promotional images, and feature children at the beach, pumpkin picking, with grandparents, professional portraits, Easter egg hunting, eating lollipops, applying clown make-up, eating donuts, being sprayed by a hose, dressed in costume and more. Some have captions enclosed, such as an image of a girl holding up a maple leaf with a caption that reads: "The essence of late fall is captured bin this one golden leaf. With it, the wily photographer has also obtained a charming unselconscious portrait of the little girl." Some duplicates.

Children's meeting group

Item consists of a photograph of a group fo children standing on the steps and in the path in front of a wooden house, the men's dormitory in a factory compound. On verso, handwritten in pen, "A children's meeting I attend every Saturday/ afternoon in the big spinning factory/ which employs 1000 people. The/ children belong to families who live in the/ factory compound & we hold our meeting/ at their request in the recreation rooms/ of the men's dormitory. I play the baby organ./ You would think I had a cross over my head./ I don't know what it is sticking up there."

Many are enclosed with captions that feature photography technique pointers, such as a print of a row of toddlers sitting outside on a bench with a caption that reads: "The photographer saw this fascinating line-up and was quick to get their picture before the children noticed."

File includes commercial prints of children blowing bubbles, sitting on stairs, and flushing the toilet. Some have captions enclosed, such as one of a young girl observing a photograph that reads "Watching her own picture develop before her eyes will delight and fascinate your child and help make her an interested model as well."

English church

Cyanotype image of a church on a country road, with a child standing in driveway. Gate to church is closed. Inscription handwritten in black ink on recto "English Church." Paper is very thin. Dated 1904 because same handwriting as 2008.001.1881.

Family album

Reddish-brown leather cover with gold embossing that reads Photographs. Notations in black ink. Black construction paper-like pages. Many of the last pages are left blank. Some photographs are missing or have been removed. Many images significantly faded. Cover and pages are warped - almost as if they were wet and dried.

Notation on inside end page reads "Miss M. E. Thompson / August [?]th 1901 / Baby's Photos".

Photographs depict primarily family and mothers with children. Some also show plays being put on in a yard by the family, farms, and archery. They are all family snapshots taken mostly around the home.
Themes include: archery, dogs, cows, drama, family and children's portraits.

Item consists of a photograph of a Japanese family and white guest. All are seated on ats inside or on the patio to a home. On verso, handwritten in ink, "In this house of which the whole/ family is Christian we hold a regular/ weekly children's meeting. The only/ Christian service in that village./ The older girl kneeling near me is one/ of our family here. She teaches the/ children in that home - Matsuda/ Mitsuko by name."

Grandfather Bird in his young days

Item is a hinged union case (plastic case) with scroll design. Die Engraver is Frederick C. Key, Casemaker is S. Peck and Company who began manufacturing in 1852, as per example in Union Cases: A Collector's Guide to the art of America's First Plastics by Clifford and Michele Krainik p. 173. Inside cover has a brown velvet cushion. Image side has brass matt, cover glass and brass preserver over tintype. Image is of a little boy, right hand on armrest. Cheeks tinted pink.

Item is a photograph mounted on dark grey card with an outdoor gathering. There are sevarl women, some in hats, one older man, a younger man and two young boys in the frame. The are all seated and hold a banner reading "CHEROKEE" at their feet. The banner probably refers to the place.

Group portrait of children

Item consists of a beige card with photograph pasted on slightly smaller than the area designed for it. The photograph shows a group of 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys. The girl at the left wears dark, high collared dress with bishop sleeves and ringlets in her short hair. The older girl in the centre wears a more dated sleeve style, fitted as in the 1880s, with a loose bodice and lace neckline and sleeve caps. The boys wear fitted sack coats buttoned at the top button only. The youngest in the picture wears what is probably a Fauntleroy suit, consisting of a velvet jacket, wide lace collar and ruffle down the front of his shirt. On verso, handwritten in ink, "Mrs Hyram Shelton".

Item consists of a white card with gold letterpress at bottom edge, "Swithun King/ Barrie and/ Orillia". In the centre, a design with artist's palette and brushes contains the text "EXTRA/ FINISH". Photograph is a group portrait of a man and woman with 5 children. The woman stands at the back, holding the youngest child in what appears to be a velvet trimmed dress. Two girls are seated on chairs and the boy sits on the floor in front. A girl in tartan dress stands at the knees of the father on the left. Behind the group, a backdrop with leaves and a mirror. On verso, handwritten in pencil, "L-10.00".
