Academic Computing Centre and Interior Design Building (opening)

Premier William Davis officially opened the Academic Computing Information Center and Interior Design. Oct 18/83. In attendance was Brian Segal, Dr. Bette Stephenson and B. Pattison. Also a photo of the plaque commemorating the official opening by William G. Davis, Premier of Ontario, located outside the Computing Information Centre, West Kerr Hall basement.

Annual reports and financial statements

Files contain copies of the annual report and audited financial statements for Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and Ryerson Polytechnical University.
The annual reports are distributed across three record groups - dependent on which department was responsible for their printing. Their organization is as follows:

RG 122.03 1987-1994
RG 395.17 1994-1996

After 1996 the university stopped publishing an annual report in this format.

Anver Saloojee

File contains head shots of Ryerson professor (Political Science), Anver Saloojee. His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine in Dec., 1989 when he was co-ordinator of the Canadian Cross Cultural Studies Program and delivered a paper at the Ontario Multicultural Association conference. His photograph was published again in the 'FORUM' Sept., 1995 when he co-chaired a conference held at Ryerson that was made possible by a research writing grant to Professor Saloojee.

File contains photographs of the signing of an agreement between Ryerson and Synercom of Sugar Land, Texas for the purchase of software for use in Geography. Includes print outline of the people in the photographs and a description of the Synercom agreement. File contains photographs of faculty and students at the Awards night for Applied Geography. File also includes random photographs of Geography faculty.

File contains head shots of Ryerson student Shelly Saunders, member of the President's Commission on Athletic Facilities Development. Photograph not used in Forum newsletter, but student identified in news story about Commission members.

Architectural Science

Included are photos that appeared in the Architectural Science brochure (March, 1990) and the Annual Report 1984/85. Each picture illustrating the hands-on approach to education at Ryerson. Students Richard Zoltek, Ed Nicolucci and Robert Smith with faculty advisor Bob Greenberg, and their scale model of the Toronto Normal School, circa 1852. The finished model served as the centrepiece of a Ryerson Archives exhibition in October 1984, depicting the 132 year history of education on St. James Square, as the university's contribution to Ontario's bicentennial celebrations.

C. 1973, 1982 - Student award winners.
D. 1981 - Official opening of the Hester How Day Care Centre at Toronto's City Hall with Brian Segal (University President), Paul Godfrey (Metro Chairman), and Arthur (Art) Eggleton (Toronto Mayor). The playground equipment was designed and constructed by TMU (formerly Ryerson) first year Architecture students.

File contains a head shot of Ryerson Librarian, Arthur Paulaitis. His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine Jan., 1983 where it was announced that he was retiring for seven months, and then returning to Ryerson as the night Librarian.

Audrey Herrema

File contains head shots of Audrey Herrema. Her photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine May, 1982 when she was Continuing Education (CE) Co-ordinator of Women and Summer Programs and had designed a six month pilot program for women entering the workforce. Her photograph was published again Jan., 1987 when she was Program Director for Ryerson's Women's Week.

B. B. (Ike) Goodfellow

File contains head shots of B.B. (Ike) Goodfellow, an IBM Canada executive. His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine in Jan., 1986. At this time he was seconded from IBM Ottawa to be Managing Director of Ryerson's Centre for Advanced Technology Education (CATE). His photo was published again the 'FORUM' magazine in April, 1987.

Bicentennial Display

Bicentennial celebration (1984), the Archives display and the model of the Normal School. The Normal School model was built to a one inch to eight feet scale and measures approximately five feet square. It was constructed over a period of nearly four months by students Edward Nicolucci, Richard Zoltek and Robert Smith, under the supervision of Professor Bob Greenberg, of the Architecture Department.

His photograph was published again in the "FORUM" Apr., 1985 when he announced that Ryerson's Developing for the Eighties private funding campaign will almost double its $6 million dollar goal.

File contains head shots of Bill Winegard, Chair of the Ontario Council on University Affairs (OCUA), an advisory body to the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine Sept. 1978 when he met with Ryerson administration regarding funding mechanisms for the Institute's present and future degree programs. His photograph was published again in May, 1979 after another meeting, this time with Colin Graham, Chairman of Ryerson's Board of Governors.

Board of Governors 1982 alumni candidates

File contains 2 photographs of Ryerson alumni candidates for the Board of Governors. The photographs are of T. D. Smith, a School of Continuing Education graduate in Business Administration and Betty-Anne Exelby, an Early Childhood Education graduate. Photographs were not used in the Forum newsletter - but there were multiple stories about the BOG election, identifying both candidates.
