Registers : Student Marks

Jim Peters, retired faculty member from the English/FrenchDepartment and Ryerson's first Archivist, recorded student marks in the subject of English and French. The register was found in the Archives stack area and incorporated into the collection.

Memoirs of a Ryersonian

File contains 2 copies of the memoirs of James (Jim) Peters in which he recounts his years at Ryerson Institute of Technology including his first visits to St. James Square in the early 1930s as a child to his retirement in 1982 after 30 years of service to Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, so named at that time.

Wood Carving

1 abstract wood sculpture executed by former Ryerson archivist and English professor Jim Peters.

Bowling trophy

Marble and metal with one brass figure bowling. Two gold crowns etched in yellow metal in cut out of orange metal facing. Affixed to brown polka dotted body. Brass plate inscribed: “Jim Peters R.P.I. 74-75 High Double 578".

Documentation files

File contains miscellaneous documents (documentation) including correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, clippings, speeches, memorandums, course outlines, correspondence about plaques on campus, timetables, remarks, instructor evaluations, invitations, and lesson plans. It also includes records regarding the retirement, pension, and the disparity in the Ryerson Fund and the Teacher's fund.

Ceremonial Mace : Debating Society and Convocation

File contains a wooden rams-head mace that was used by the Debating Society. It was carved by James Peters and includes the Ryerson crest and a chain-link central section. It was later used as the official convocation ceremonial mace until it was replaced
