Fait partie de School of Journalism
Started in the Spring of 1984 as a yearly publication by the School of Journalism, it became a twice yearly publication in 1995 with Spring and Summer editions. In 2011 it switched to summer and winter editions. In 2013 the RRJ began publishing only one edition again. The editors of the journal are all Ryerson Students.
In May of 2021 a renaming committee recommended that the names of both the Ryersonian and the Ryerson Review of Journalism should be changed. The School Council unanimously approved these motions. Ryerson was removed from the name of the magazine. The Spring 2022 edition was the first with the new name "Review of Journalism".
These changes are in line with the University's announcement of its intention to change the name of the University, which occurred in Spring 2022 - Toronto Metropolitan University. This change was one of 22 recommendations put forward by the Standing Strong Taskforce whose mandate was to to develop principles to guide commemoration at the university and to respond to the history and legacy of Egerton Ryerson within the context of the university’s values.

Fonds consists of 181 comic books, produced in Canada, mainly during World War II, after the War Exchange Conservation Act (WECA), on December 2, 1940 classified American comics as "luxury goods" and limited their importation. These comics are also known as the "Canadian Whites" (due to the fact that the comics were black and white, except for the covers), the comics were published by Commercial Signs of Canada, which consisted of brothers Cyril (Cy) and Gene Bell, with investor John Ezrin. Publication began in the summer of 1941 and included titles Wow Comics, Active Comics, Dime Comics, and Joke Comics. '
In the winter of 1942, Commercial Signs absorbed another publishing house, Hillborough Studios, and renamed the company Bell Features. The acquisition brought the "Triumph Comics" title, and two more, Dizzy Don Detective (later retitled The Funny
Comics), and Commando Comics, soon followed.
When WECA was repealed in June of 1944 and American comic books were once again available to Canadians, Bell Features attempted to remain competitive by expanding their market into the US and the UK, and by publishing some titles in colour. Due to a lack of available newsprint, however, the company shifted its focus on Canadian content and began reprinting American titles.

Fait partie de Lantern Slide Collection
This item consists of a Praxinoscope Theatre created by Charle-Emile Renauld in 1879.
This early animation device uses strips of hand-drawn animations placed on the inside a spinning cylinder with mirrors in order to view the animation reflected inside. This Praxinoscope Theatre has 9 hand-painted animated cardboard strips and 6 background illustrations, allowing the viewer to coordinate different animations
The Praxinoscope Theatre can be seen as a Theatre Optique adapted for a consumer and toy market. Instead of using a projector, the tabletop viewer allows users to look into a window to view the animated pictures. As stated on the device’s box, the toy could be placed by a window to use daylight, and at night a candle was used as the light source. The animation device and its components fit within a wooden box.

Toronto Met University Magazine
Fait partie de Office of University Advancement
This file contains the University magazine published twice a year by the Office of University Advancement.
The magazine Alumni Relations publishes for the alumni started in 1962 as, The Rambler.
Alumni Relations felt the magazine needed to prominently show the school name in the masthead. With the Spring 1997 issue, the name changed to "Ryerson Magazine". The magazine was to be more than just an alumni affairs journal -- it was also to be used to help recruit new students and to communicate with university associates.
The next two issues, Spring 2001 and Fall 2001 were entitled, "Ryerson University the magazine".
Quickly another rename called the magazine, " Alumni magazine" with the Winter 2002/03. This name was used until the Winter 2010 issue.
In January 2011 a redesign gave another name, "Ryerson University Magazine, for Alumni and Friends". It is current and ongoing.
In April 2022 the University changed its name to Toronto Metropolitan University, so with the Summer 2022 edition the magazine changed its name to Toronto Met University Magazine.
