Kodak Reference Handbooks and Technical Data

Sub-sub-series contains publications produced by Kodak for the consumer between 1940 and about 1995. Publications are pamphlets ranging from 1 to over 50 pages and intended to be stored in a series of specialized binders. The information pamphlets were published in series with an alpha numeric code, which form the sub series in this collection. Customers subscribed to receive updates based on their specific interest. Early publications, from the 1940's, were simply titled "Kodak Photographic Handbook" and later versions included: Kodak Reference Handbook, Kodak Industrial Handbook, Kodak Color Handbook, Kodak Graphic Arts Handbook, Kodak Professional and Industrial Data, and Kodak Scientific and Technical Data.

Each pamphlet has a unique, alpha-numeric Pamphlet Number, following classification scheme devised by Kodak to make ordering and subscription easy for clients. Schema is as follows:

File contains information and instructional booklets relating to industrial photographic practices and Kodak industrial products. Topics include microscopic photography, underwater photography, microfilm and reproduction films and papers (RAR film, Pan film, Ektaline paper, and Linograph paper), geophysical recording, instrumentation films, spectrum analysis, schlieren photography, and darkroom construction for industrial use. Also included is the "Kodak Job Sheet Packet", which outlines techniques for handling problems that arise in industrial photography.

Item is a snapshot camera for instant photographs with Polaroid 100 series packfilm. Uses "blue dot" flashcubes.

Item is a point and shoot camera for instant photographs on the proprietary PR10 Kodak instant film. It has a vertically oriented body in black and grey with a folded optical path. Focusing was through a F11/137mm lens. Had a flipflash socket on top. A hand crank ejected the photos. This model was part of a series that was Kodak's response to the successful instant cameras produced by Polaroid. A patent infringement case was brought against Kodak by Polaroid in 1977 and was finally settled in 1986, in Polaroid's favour. Kodak recalled all their instant cameras, offering customers a new camera or a rebate in exchange. A further, class action, lawsuit by consumers followed, resulting in Kodak further offering cash or credit for the return of the Kodak nameplate. While this item still has it's Kodak nameplate, many Kodak instant cameras do not.

Polaroid SX-70 Land camera

Item is a single lens reflex, folding Land camera for instant pictures using Polaroid SX-70 film. The basic folding design was not new, but similar to the "Excentric" camera of R. Guenault (ca. 1905). This compact model incorporates SLR focusing to 10 1/2", automatic exposure up to 14 seconds, and motorized print-ejection, all powered by a disposable flat battery, which came hidden in the film back. Includes manual and German advertisement.

Manual focus is possible via an override switch above the focusing wheel. The camera features a socket for a remote shutter release and also has a tripod socket and lugs for a neck strap.

Item consists of a Kodak Cameo Motor camera for use with 35 mm film. The camera itself has a slim black body with rounded edges and a flip-up automatic flash that covers the viewfinder when closed. Gold text on the centre recto of the camera reads: CAMEO MOTOR. Other features include automatic film advance and film speed selection. This particular model was made in Mexico.

Item is a collections of butterfly clutch lapel pins. Pins are a square shape with rounded corners and have a cloisonne type appearance. The left side features the Olympic logo on top of a blue background with the words "100 / Atlanta 1996". The right side is gold with the words "Kodak / Official Imaging Sponsor of the 1996 Olympic Games" in black. These Olympic Games were the 100th Anniversary of the first Summer Games in Greece held in 1896.

Item is a medium format studio camera. It resembles the Premo Sr., but features an extra long bellows that extends out the back of the camera. It is made of wood and polished laquered brass, and the body is covered with fine black leather. It is fitted with a Kodak Ball Bearing Shutter and a Kodak Anastigmat f7.7/170 mm lens.

No. 1A Pocket Kodak Junior

Item is a brown folding camera with black bellows; for 2.5" x 4.25" exposures on 116 film. The shutter was made by the Eastman Kodak Co. in the United States.

Premoette Junior No. 1A

Item is a leather-covered aluminum-bodied folding-bed camera for filmpacks. The bed folds down but not to a full 90 degree angle. The bellows are black and there is no track on the bed but the front standard fits into two slots at the front, one for objects 6 to 20 feet away and the other for objects that are further than 20 feet away. The camera is still in the original packaging with the accompanying instruction manual. The camera uses a ball bearing lens.

Item consists of a program for a musical called Hair by Gerome Ragni, James Rado, and Galt MacDermot, presented at the Bilmore Theatre (NY), presented in the fall of 1968. Item is signed by an unidentified member of the cast.
