The image is very dark, causing the rest of her body to be obscured. On the inside of the left flap, a handwritten note gives her name and the date.

The family's address is printed sideways up the front of the card, and the parent's names are given at the bottom. Inside, the phrase "and the children....." is added to the inside left, while a black and white photograph of 6 children is pasted onto the right.

File consists of four card mounted photographs, 3 of the same man in various poses and 1 of a woman. All mounted on black card by studios in Montreal. The photographs were found inside the Agnes Osberg album (2009.005.023) with a yellow sticky note that read: Came from the same family But Not this album.

The studio's name is given as "The Stride Studios". The sitter was identified as "Miss Helen Ballock." on a manilla envelope which contained the images. [Envelope removed]

The photographer's name is given as "TOPLEY" with an address at "104 SPARKS ST/ OTTAWA". In the centre, text identifies the photographer as "PHOTOGRAPHER BY APPOINTMENT TO/ HIS EXCELLENCY/ THE MARQUIS OF LOFANE(Sic)/ AND/ HER ROYAL HIGHNESS/ THE PRINCES LOUISE."

At the lower right of the card is a design with the photographer's initials intertwined: "A" "G" and "P", and the words "Pittaway/ OTTAWA,/ ONT." On the verso, and handwritten note identifying the recipient of the card.

Of these family photos, one is written in ink on verso "- at Jessie (Wallace) Stanley's wedding."

Three of these photographs are stamped on verso by the photography studio of H. R. Niebel, Orillia, Ont., and four are written on verso: "Peggy Grant and Muray infant", "Muray Grant, July / 26 - 17 mos.", "Florence Grant, Muray Grant, and Chris Wallace in Orilia", and "Cameron Grant and fella."

Photograph of a group of 7 passengers in an early automobile, stopped along Stanley Park drive in front of the "Hollow Tree". This old cedar was a popular spot for group photographs in both cars and horse-drawn carriages. The stamp on the back of the card mount indicates this was taken by an official park photographer: "The Stanley Park Photographers, Head Office, 162 Cordova Street, Vancouver, B.C.". The negative number for ordering more prints is given as 4869a.

Bi-fold card, inside a photograph of a young woman by the name of "Nellie Mac". The photographer's stamp appears embossed at the bottom right of the mat around the image: "McKenzie/ Kingston".

The card-mounted photographs are all studio portraits of unidentified individuals. The first of two cabinet cards is embossed with "Quartley", and the second is embossed with "Morton." Two Cartes de visites are printed on verso with "J.F. Rowe. A fifth card is identified as a "Gem" photo card, printed on verso with "R.W. Knorr" and an advertisement for the tiny Gem format.

Photographic image is of a two-horse team standing on a dirt road with cart and driver in front of residential buildings. The card mount is taupe and dark gray.

The image is of two men, identified from their name tags as Tony Miller and Bill Hastings, discussing a Suzuki motorcycle.

On the lower right of the tan card mount is embossed the studio logo. On the verso is inscribed in green ink: "To Jessie, Wishing you many happy returns of the day. Violet. Jan. 1 1912."

The photograph envelope is printed for the Owl Drug Store, of 336 Bloor St. West, and noted that the customer is "Mrs. Atwood, 23 Spadina." The negatives are of a woman wearing a white ensemble.

G. Schmidt, coach." A faded grey studio stamp reads "Dewell, commercial photographer, (...) 321 (...) Omaha."

Class portrait of co-eds and rabbi of the "Cleveland Jewish Center, Confirmation -- Class of 1946 .. 5706" is a photomontage of 51 captioned portrait ovals arranged alphabetically.

Lillian Russell, born Nellie Leonard in Clinton, Iowa in 1861, was a famous comic opera actress in New York city. She made her stage debut in "Time Tries All" in Chicago in 1877 before moving to New York in 1879 and continuing her career in musicals, burlesque and dramatic shows. Near the end of her life, she was appointed as a special investigator to study immigration conditions by President Harding. She presented a report to the United States Department of Labor that suggested an "immigration holiday" of 5 years, the sifting of immigrants on the other side, and 21 years residence in the US before naturalization. The photograph is shot from an odd angle and the baby is framed diagonally in the shot. The baby's dark hair is askew. The image is surrounded by a 0.75 cm white border. The back of the photograph is stamped "artray limited, photographers, vancover canada, art jones . ray munro". Former Vancouver Sun photojournalists, Art Jones and Ray Munro, incorporated artray limited in 1948. Jones and Munro were only in business together for less than a year, as Jones bought Munro out later in 1948. Munro went on to become a columnist, a parachute jumper, and a hypnotist, among other things. Jones later went on to produce and host "Art Jones & Company", a weekly feature on SHAW TV, where he chatted with business, entertainment, community and political leaders.

Mostly collage work, cut out from show program, newspaper clippings of reviews and photographs from the London Kiwanis Club "Showboat Days Revue" at the Grand Theatre.

The review included glee club performances, theatrical acts and minstrel shows. The minstrel performances included several white performers in blackface.

Minstrel shows are a style of variety show, most popular during the late 19th and early 20th century, in which white performers use make-up and costumes to depict racist and stereotypical caricatures of Black people. The genre originated in the United States, but Canada had its own troupes and touring companies, and the format was popular with schools, community groups, and religious organizations.

Item consists of a sepiatoned black and white portrait of a young woman. The portrait is circular with a soft edge. The woman has her hair tied up around her head and is looking off to the left. She is wearing a black dress with a white lace collar and a long necklace that falls out of the frame. The photograph is housed a card. The card is yellowed with an embossed emblem on the top left on the front. Also on the front, on the bottom right, is the name of the photographer "A.R. Ward 289 Yonge St. Toronto". 289 Yonge Street is located right at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto. There is a translucent paper inside the card to further protect the photograph.

Peagam's studio in Toronto, Ontario. H.E. Peagam was photographer that had a studio at 32 Temperance Street in Toronto in 1893, and one at 254 Yonge Street in Toronto 1901 - 1922. The portrait of the boy is cut into an oval (measuring approx. 5 x 7 cm) and has a small even white border. The oval photograph is pasted onto a black piece of card measuring 9.25 x 13.25 cm. On the bottom right of the card is embossed with "H.E. Peagam, Toronto, ONT"

This image was developed on Velox photographic paper, the first commercially successful photo paper.
