University status for Ryerson Polytechnical Institute files

This file contains documentation relating to the school's efforts at achieving university status. The main documents are "Ryerson's Case for University Status", prepared by the Institute in June, 1991 and the Ontario Council of University Affairs' response (Advisory memorandum 91-VII) entitled "The Developmentof Ryerson Polytechnical Institute". Supporting correspondence and other records originating from the President's Office on this matter can also be found in this file.

RU Ryerson student video contest

RU Ryerson inaugural video contest occured in 2009. The idea behind the contest was initiated by President Sheldon Levy after he saw a similar contest at Waterloo University. The contest was student run with support from the President's office - donating the prize money for the top three videos.

This file consists of textual records and DVD from the 2009 and 2010 iteration of the RU Ryerson contest.

President Sheldon Levy Installation dvd

A DVD of the installation ceremony of President Sheldon Levy on November 2, 2005. The original master was produced by the School of Radio and Television Arts. This transfer to DVD was created by the Digital Media Projects Office (John Hajdu). See the accession documentation for further details.

"Ryerson Honours Chancellor David Crombie" video

A brief (7:40 minutes) retrospect of David Crombie's life and career at Ryerson, presented at a farewell reception celebrating the end of Crombie's term as Ryerson's first Chancellor. Terry Grier, Al Wargo, Lynda Friendly and Claude Lajeunesse gave brief personal comments about the individual, David Crombie.The Ryerson Archives was given credit for the use of archival material about Ryerson and David Crombie.Because this was a joint production of the President's Office and the Office of University Advancement, a decision was made to co-arrange under both Groups. President's celebration notices
