Mother - daughter tea

Photograph of women sitting out on a veranda drinking tea. A server is seen passing out food. In the background you can see more women sitting out on the grass at tables. The mother - daughter tea was part of graduation week for the Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing class of 1972B and was held at Prince Arthur House. Photograph was used in the Fall issue of the Wellesley World newsletter put out by the hospital.

Framed certificate of appreciation granted to Elsie K. Jones upon her retirement from Wellesley's School of Nursing in 1964. It reads as follows:

appreciation of your selfless devotion as
Director of Nursing of this hospital. Your great con-
tribution to the Hospital and the field of nursing is

You have been of inestimable value in a period of growing com-
plexity in Hospital Administration and Nursing Education.
Your loyalty, sense of humility and willingness to serve, have been

Architectural rendering - Elsie K. Jones Building

Framed architectural rendering of the new nursing residence called the "Elsie K. Jones Building" Rendering was presented to Mrs. C. A. LaVenture (Elsie K. Jones) at the naming of the residence. Written under the rendering is:
"This drawing was presented on the Fourteenth day of April, 1971, to Mrs. C. A. LaVenture (Elsie K. Jones) on the occasion of the naming of the Nurses' Residence the "Elsie K. Jones Building".
Under her guidance as Director of Nursing at the Wellesley Hospital, the highest standards of nursing education and nursing service were established, and her devotion and willingness to serve remain a lasting inspiration to the nursing profession."

Student notebook

Purple covered notebook belonging to a class of 1944 graduate. Inside the notebook are lecture notes and a copy of the Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing procedures manual relating to the second year of training. Lecture notes for classes - Dietetics, Orthopedic surgery and Surgical Nursing.

File is combination of 4 different files with Curriculum committee meeting minutes and accompanying materials. Each file part represents one of the original file folders with the original file name. Dates on the file parts sometimes crossover into the next file.

Address given by University of Toronto Dean of Arts Moffatt St. Andrew Woodside to the graduating class of the Toronto General Hospital. Ceremony took place in Convocation Hall at the University of Toronto. The ceremony was held May 23, 1957.

Red Cross Outpost Hospital - Red Lake, Ontario

File contains memos and correspondence regarding The Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing affiliation with the Red Cross Outpost hospitals. This agreement allowed 3rd year nursing students to gain experience interning at the Red Lake Outpost Hospital in Red Lake Ontario - located Northwest of Sudbury, about 100 kilometers from the Ontario-Manitoba border. The Wellesley School ended it affiliation with the program in 1971.
