Item is an unmounted studio portrait of a woman in a black dress standing against a plain background. She has a pin at her throat, and a white collar is visible under her black coat. Hair tied back with soft bangs is in keeping with the fashion of the 1880s. Her hands are held together in front, in black gloves. She is shown from the waist up.

She also holds a book, that is resting on the table. She wears a hat and shirtwaist with buttons, the sleeves are puffy which are in keeping with fashion of the 1890s. She wears a brooch at her neck. He is sitting with his legs crossed, his body rurned away from the camera, but his face looking right at camera. He holds a scroll in his hand, and wears a sash of somesort across his chest. He looks very pleased with himself. Both their cheeks are tinted pink. Top corners angled off, and bottom edge is curved.

Item is potentially made of celluloid. It is a large photographic button, that had a stand like a frame. Image is a portrait of a man, with glasses and mustache, wearing a suit and tie. Image is brown/red hue, like sepia. Verso is metal, plated gold with the inscription "Columbia Medallion Studios Chicago." Unable to locate this studio, or find any information on it.

No background. He wears a dark suit with jacket and vest, with a chain watch. He wears a white shirt and his tie is loosely knotted in style with the 1890s slipknot tie with the ends hanging. His hair is slick and parted.

Item is a cased tintype. Has a metal loop at side which suggests it's not a closed case, but more a frame. No front cover. Image has a brass mat, a cover glass and a soft brass preserver. Image is of three seated men leaning against a wall of a house, with wood siding. One on left wears a top hat and dark suit, with a long beard and mustach. The one in the middle has on a suit with jacket, vest and a chain watch and a hat. He has a cigarette in his mouth and a cane leaning against his legs. The one on the right wears a bowler hat, with suit jacket, vest and tie and holds a cane in his hands. He has a long mustach.

Item is a wood frame covered in red paper with gold details, with ambrotype held in place with brass matt and brass preserver. Ambrotype is a portrait of three women, sitting on a bench outside, in front of what looks to be a boat on shore. All three wear elaborate hats, with long dresses and white collars, and their hands in their laps. All three look directly at the camera. Ambrotype is a single sheet of glass, the ashphaltum was painted directly overtop the collodion surface and so it is only one piece of glass with no need for a cover glass.

The younger boy is wearing a jacket that is buttoned up. The older boy has a jacket, only top button done up, with vest and tie. Both arms are on armrest, with legs crossed. The younger boy's face is slightly blurred, from moving it during exposure. It looks to be same studio, props and seating arrangement as 2008.001.1811.

One on left has a mustach. Both cheeks are inted pink. Man on right has his arm on armrest, and the other one on his knee. Varnish coating gives tintype a brownish colouring. Studio background looks like a fireplace.

Item is in a cream coloured card-frame embossed opening, with embossed letters "Potter's Patent March 7 1865." Which is how we dated the tintype. Photograph is a studio portrait of two women, both seated, arms resting on the one armrest with fringes. Woman on right is dressed all in black, with black hat and veil - perhaps mourning wear. The woman on the left is in full skirt with black trim and black top, white collar and black hat. Both have pink tinted cheeks.

Photograph is a studio portrait of two women, both standing, side by side. Both women wear hats. One on left wears a dark shirtwaist, with a striped full skirt with hair tied neatly back and little bow at the neck. Woman on right has a dark dress, buttons down the front with a small white collar, in fashion in the 1860s. Her hair is shoulder lenght ringlets, also in fashion in the 1860s. Both have pink tinted cheeks.

Front cover is brown with two metal clasps, and back cover is black case with one metal clasp. Inside front cover is a red velvet soft cushion with detail of a flower. Image side has brass mat, soft brass preserver but no cover glass, ambrotype is not protected. Image is of two young girls sitting side by side and holding hands. They look directly at the camera. Both wear dresses, one on left has a plaid one on, and girl on right has a polka dotted dress. Girl on right has long ringlets and has freckles. Girl on left has her hair up and parted down the middle. Both wear the same necklace with locket. Their cheeks are tinted pink.

On verso, the motto and arms for the city of Aberdeen (showing three castles, two leapords and the motto "Bon Accord") followed by the photographer's stamp in black, "ARTIST/ &/ PHOTOGRAPHER/ W. Item is a brown bi-fold card with an embossed design with shield and helmet on the front left flap, beneath which is the photographer's name in letterpress: "A.E. Lyon/ Photo./ Charlottetown, P.E.I." Inside, a photograph is adhered to the card showing three women in a studio, one holding a baby. All 4 are identified by a handwritten note on the inside of the right flap.

Photograph is of a maid holding a tray with a teacup and pots of cream and sugar. Studio backdrop with palm fronds. On verso of card, decorative gold stamp with floral motif and the photographer's name and address repeated, with the additional information: "Alexandra Studios" and "NEGATIVES KEPT EXTRA COPIES CAN ALWAYS/ BE HAD BY SENDING NAME."
