Item is an aerial photograph of the Kodak Heights complex in Toronto, Ontario. Printed below the image is a dedication: "In Appreciation Of Your Contribution This Print is Made From The First Roll of Ekacolor Edge 5 Coated at KCI on March 25th, 1996". Ektacolor Edge 5 is a glossy colour photographic paper that was produced at the Kodak Heights factory.

Black album, "Photographs"

Black leather album, lined with satin, bound with black string. "Photographs" is embossed on the front cover, and "Royal Albums" and "Made in USA" are in gold letterpress inside the back cover. Snapshots are glued to 40 black construction paper pages. Primarily vernacular images of weddings, soldiers, and vacations. Only Dick Gossett, Alan Pride, Bill McMillan, Duncan Wallace, and Minnie (Wallace) Owens are identified. One photograph of young men is entitled "Bolsover Flirts."

Black album, no cover

154 photographs affixed to 24 black paper pages, 11 loose prints--the album cover itself is absent. The photographs have primarily vernacular images: snapshots of individuals and small groups, individual and group portraits, vacation scenes. Captions and dates are in white pencil: "1929," "Pt. Stanley 1937," "Wingham 1937," "Cub Camp 1939," "Churchill 1940-1," "Lake Joseph," and "Natural Park." On the verso of one photograph is partially written "Dear Gertrude,-This is a picture...of our new home...Mildr(ed?)" A truck is shown painted with "...S TAXI CABS, 2400 CHATHAM." A boat is shown painted with "The 100 Mile Cruiser To NATURAL PARK, SAGAMO." A park entrance gate made of tree branches spells out "CAMP TINAWATAWA, YWCA, YMCA." On a page entitled "Camp 1921" the prints have been typed on "Lake Couchiching." One loose print is written on verso "May 1963."

Emulsion kettle

Item is a 48 gallon copper kettle with a silver-plated liner. It was installed in building #3 of the Kodak Heights plant in 1915 for making photographic emulsion for black and white paper and was used until 1974. The kettle was used to make the first photographic emulsion produced in Canada and was referred to as the "making kettle".

Velox postal cards

Velox film with prepared postal card backings, ready sensitized, in brown paper envelope that has been opened at one end. The envelope still contains 5 film sheets (of the original 12) as well as instructions for use in English and French, and dated June 1914. On the verso of the package, the vendor has stamped the last return-by date as May 1, 1916.

It features a faster shutter and a shorter focal length to previous models. The body is made of brown Bakelite. Above the lens is an aperture scale for Kodachrome and Ektachrome films.

Brownie Starmatic

Item is a small automatic camera with a moulded black plastic body and metal fittings. Made for use with 127 roll film, it was the first automatic Brownie camera and a high end model of the Kodak Brownie Star series. It features a Kodar lens f/8 and an instant shutter setting, as well as a dial to select exposure with an Automatic Exposure option. It allows for the selection of film speed value to be selected in ASA and a reading to notify the photographer if flash is necessary. Because of these features, the popular photo sharing app "Starmatic" for Apple iPhone was named after this camera.

Philips Magicubes

Item consists of a 12 pack of Philips Magicubes. They introduced in 1970 as an improvement on flashcubes. As oppsed to being fired electrically by batteries, they were fired mechanically by a small bar striking a pin coated in fulminating material. This advancement made cheap flash cameras possible. They were used in cameras such as the Kodak Instamatic and the Agfa Autostar X-126, among others.

General Electric Photoflash bulb

3 individually packaged G.E. Mazda Photoflash lamps. The three light bulbs are numbered according to size: 11, 21, 31. The bulbs were for news, amateur, and professional photography. The cardboard packages contain exposure guide number charts and recommended examples re: film speed and shutter speed. Two bulbs are wire-filled and one is foil-filled. The foil lamp is stamped 1936 and one of the wire lamps gives a date range of 1928-46 for the patent on the design.

Item consists of a Kodak Hawkeye 8 Movie Camera. The camera was patented by Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, and was made by Canadian Kodak Co. Limited. It has a Kodak Ektanar Lens 13m f/2.3 and is made of plastic. It used 8mm film and was sold for 19.99 when released in 1963.

Brownie Starflash Outfit No. 24L

Item is an eyelevel rollfilm camera with medium sized flash, built of a black Bakelite plastic body and metal fittings. Part of the Kodak Brownie Star series, the camera was also made in red, blue and white, as well as in a special two-tone version with a Coca-Cola logo. It features a Dakon lens, rotary shutter, built-in flashgun, two aperture settings for color and black and white, and was made for use with 127 film. On metal bulb tray, handwritten in black marker "B. M.c D." Camera comes in original packaging (opened) with four extra bulbs (opened). An address sticker is attached: "James R. McDowall/ 56 Twyford Road/ Toronto 18, Ont."

Brownie Reflex Synchro Model

Item is a small camera with black plastic and metal casing and a large folding hood over viewfinder. Made for use with 127 roll film, this camera different from the Kodak Brownie Reflex in that in featured a two-pin flash connector below the taking lens and had the shutter selector inverter. Similar to the Brownie Reflex, this Kodak Brownie Reflex Synchro is a twin lens reflex camera with a fixed-focus meniscus lens.

Almost identical to the Duaflex III except for the two-tone brown finish and restyled front plate.

It is an example of one of Kodak's short attempt at instant film, prior to the loss of a patent infringement case with Polaroid in which Kodak was ordered to cease production of any instant film related products.

Similar to the Instamatic X-35, this small hand held camera has black moulded plastic casing meant to look like leatherette, and two brown faux leather panel details on the front on either side of lens. A bright red plate above lens reads "KODAK / INSTAMATIC X-35F". A switch at the top indicates the two Kodar lens focus settings for "beyond 6 feet" or "2 to 6 feet". Fitted with a Flipflash socket. Kodak wrist strap attached. Manufactured for the Canadian market, 'camera' is written on the nameplate in English and in French. Made for use with 126 cartridge film.
