Transparencies

Series contains 867 transparencies (previous indicated as colour reversals), from the Kodak Canada Corporate Archive. The collection spans the last half of the twentieth century, 1950-2000, and for the most part was used as a working collection for marketing and promotional purposes.
Transparencies are organized by the order created when processed in 2005. This arrangement was loosely based on the Kodak Canada's original organization of the files in their archives index. Files of transparencies organized by the Kodak Canada Archives Index associated with the collection have been kept together, with the individual file numbers and index titles referenced in the Notes field of each record.

Unsorted Materials

Sub-series consists of materials previously stored on the UM (unsorted materials) shelves in the Archives. The materials in this sub-series were found on one shelf and are the proofs and assorted materials relating to a series of books written by Dean and Nancy Tudor entitled "American Popular Music on Elpee". The series consisted of 4 books - "Contemporary Popular Music", "Black Music", "Jazz", and "Grass Roots Music". All of the published books are currently in the Archives collection.

Student parades and picnics

File contains photographs of the Ryerson student parade and picnic held every September. There are photographs of the 1979 parade and picnic, the 1985 parade, and the 1989 parade "Purple Haze".

Media Centre

Sub-series contains photographs of the Media Centre, its staff and activities. It is divided into two files - Aerial photoshoot and General photographs

Ryer's Inn

Ryer's Inn was organized and presented by students in the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. It was modeled after the Cornell University event "Ezra Cornell Hotel". Its purpose was to show members of the Hospitality Industry what Ryerson's program had to offer by showcasing its' students. The event is completely organized and executed by student's in the program, with faculty supervision. It's inaugural night was held February 28, 1981.
Subseries consists of photographs taken at two events - 1981 and 1983.

Sub-series consists of files of photographs taken for the "This is Ryerson" promotional booklet. Booklet highlighted the courses and programs offered by Ryerson.

Ceremony records

The Alumni Achievement Awards program was inaugurated in 1998 on Ryerson Polytechnic University's 50th Anniversary. There were initially two categories - Alumni Award of Distinction and Outstanding Recent graduate. The Alumni Award of Distinction is given for professional achievement. The Outstanding Recent Graduate Award is given an alumnus who brought honour to Ryerson withing 10 years of graduation. The winners are gifted with a medal created with funding from the Board of Directors of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in honour of Mr. Sharpe's induction into the Business Hall of Fame in 1998. The award was re-named for Mr. Sharpe in 2002. In 2008 the Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award was introduced, recognizing alumni who have provided outstanding volunteer assistance to the University. In 2013 the Outstanding International Alumni Award was introduced, recognizing the alumnus that has demonstrated exceptional accomplishment in their chosen profession, exceptional service in community affairs, and has contributed to the advancement of Ryerson University.
Sub-series contains promotional materials relating to the Alumni Achievement Awards and the Wall of Recognition. It is divided by year. For more information on each ceremony, including lists of honourees, see the file level records.

Miscellaneous

File contains a miscellanea of textual records. Included in the file are an outline for a proposed new course "Research Project"; an agenda for the Steering Committee for Ryerson Open College; a memo regarding the Deans' meeting; a copy of "An act respecting Ryerson Polytechnical Institute"; and a letter from a high school guidance counsellor.

Glass plate negatives

Series contains 40 glass plate negatives of varying sizes originating from the Kodak Canada Archives. These negatives were created circa 1920 and document the early operations of Kodak Heights, including their involvement with troops in World War I. The Notes field has been used to indicate corresponding Kodak Archives Index files the negatives originated from. They are currently arranged according to the order created when the negatives were processed in 2005.
