Children promotional portraits

File consists of photographs featuring images of children. Many are promotional images, and feature children at the beach, pumpkin picking, with grandparents, professional portraits, Easter egg hunting, eating lollipops, applying clown make-up, eating donuts, being sprayed by a hose, dressed in costume and more. Some have captions enclosed, such as an image of a girl holding up a maple leaf with a caption that reads: "The essence of late fall is captured bin this one golden leaf. With it, the wily photographer has also obtained a charming unselconscious portrait of the little girl." Some duplicates.

Commercial portraits of children

File contains promotional group portraits of children participating in outdoor activities, including sleighing, camping, tree climbing and Easter egg hunting. Many are enclosed with captions that feature photography technique pointers, such as a print of a row of toddlers sitting outside on a bench with a caption that reads: "The photographer saw this fascinating line-up and was quick to get their picture before the children noticed."

Nordic and alpine skiers

File consists of prints featuring images of people nordic and alpine skiing, included couples, families, individuals and friends. An enclosed caption reads: "The tranquility of a lovely afternoon in a snowy woodland glade is but one of the rewards for the cross-country skier." Some duplicates.

An enclosed caption from one images reads: "The craftsmen of Williamsburg are just one of the many picture opportunities you find indoors and out. File includes commercial prints of children blowing bubbles, sitting on stairs, and flushing the toilet. Some have captions enclosed, such as one of a young girl observing a photograph that reads "Watching her own picture develop before her eyes will delight and fascinate your child and help make her an interested model as well."

File contains records created during the process of publishing various books, magazine articles, and other forms of press, including articles for Kodakery Canada, InFocus, and Kodak Canada News. Items include memos, correspondence, annotated drafts, images, and other ephemera. Subjects of publications include: Kodak pioneers; Kodak Canada's Vancouver processing lab; Kodak's role in metropolitan Toronto; airshow photography; Kodak's relationship with Quebec; Kodak products, employees, and awards; antique cameras; Kodak's role in both World Wars; and nature photography.

Kodak product packaging

File contains packaging for Kodak photofinishing--including envelopes for mail-order processing and developed negatives--from roughly 1907 to 1997. File also includes product packaging and instructions for Canadian Kodak's Azo developing paper from between 1909 and 1911. Azo is a silver chloride contact printing paper originally produced by Photo Materials Company of Rochester, NY. This latter company was purchased by Kodak in 1898, which then began producing and distributing Azo paper under its own name.

Records pertaining to corporate meetings and presentations

File consists of overhead transparencies and paper copies of notes from internal presentations delivered between 1991 and 1999 in English and French. Much of the file consists of Kodak Canada's Talking Points/Point de Vue initiative, an internal communication system designed to quickly disseminate information throughout the organization. File also includes notes for regional visits, notes and transpariencies for an Image Check meeting from January 20, 1995 and an SGM IS managers meeting from April 26, 1995, and other materials. Topics include Kodak Canada's history, organization, strategic vision, quality policy, customer satisfaction measures, operating efficiency, and revenues.

Corporate histories and overviews

File contains miscellaneous overviews and histories of Kodak, written and used as reference material by Kodak Canada's communications department between 1958 and 2004. Includes brief background accounts and "fast facts," as well as "Kodak Canada Milestones" documents, which provide year-to-year accounts of Kodak Canada's activities. Most documents provide general corporate information, but some cover more specific topics, including the Ryerson Chair in Photography, Kodak's Toronto Expansion Program, the history of the Kodak camera, Kodak's offices in Quebec, Ottawa, and Edmonton, and the history of the Kodak Heights Power House (building #1). Many of the histories were written by Mel Rubinstein, Company Information Specialist, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Corporate histories in this file appear to have been written retroactively and can thus be differentiated from Kodak Canada's "Corporate History Notes," which were written on an ongoing basis and provided day-to-day accounts of the company's life.
