File contains one television script - Lena Horne : The Lady and Her Music Routine (June 1982, RKO Pictures, 90 mins. ) by Executive producer Robert Many and Producer Bill Siegler, two RKO Pictures' promotional posters and one "Lena Horne: The Highlights" biography proposal compiled by Diane M. Giola. The success of Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, which opened at the Netherlander Theater on Broadway on May 12, 1981, and ran 333 performances, until June 30, 1982 (Horne's 65th birthday). Later that same week, the entire show was performed again and videotaped for television broadcast and home video release. The Lady and Her Music toured 41 cities in the U.S. and Canada through June 17, 1984. Lena Horne (1917 - 2010) was an African-American singer, actress, civil rights activist and dancer.

The concept of the show is "the world is now a goldfish bowl" in which the world has become smaller than it once was. The New Year's Eve show re-caps the events of the year through sketches, musical numbers and dancing.

Harry Belafonte is a Jamaican - American singer, actor and activist. The transcription includes directions and off-camera dialogue with director, camera man and producer, Paddy Sampson. Also included in the file is a copy of the Globe and Mail newspaper dated may 2nd, 1970. There is only one article about , Cleavon Little, Star of a Broadway musical and tony-award winner. The subject of the article could relate further to the Belafonte transcripts. The title of the article is " This year Hollywood isn't interested in the man who won the Tony" and Little is quoted as saying, "I'm trying to say I have not received a good offer to do a movie because I happen to be black."

File contains Paddy Sampson's files relating to the Sky Dome project. Included in the file are correspondences with Sky Dome Chairman, Paul Goddfrey, news clippings, the proposal for the Opening celebrations project, financial agreements between Goodman & Goodman, contract agreements and Sampson's participation certificate from Sky Dome. File also contains press clippings that explain public reaction to Sky Dome president, Chuck Magwood's, decision to open the dome during the celebrations despite rainy weather conditions. Additionally, a document called "Command Performance: a concept by Paddy Sampson (April 12th, 1988) outlines his goals and objectives as executive producer of the project. Sampson was the president of That's Show business Inc.

Textual records from Belafonte enterprises, Inc. listing Large Blue Video Tapes (Tape # and Description of contents) dated from 1966 - 1981. Paddy Sampson wrote and or directed the Belafonte television special in Japan. He and Belafonte were life long friends and worked together many times in which Sampson either wrote or directed televised projects.

File contains photos from the CBC television special, The Blues. In 1966, CBC Television invited some of North America's greats blues performers to gather in a Toronto studio and record performances together and individually. The session lasted over three days and the results were originally televised as a 90-minute special of the CBC series, Festival. Festival aired from 1960-1970 and was CBC's home for performing arts programming. The Blues special became famous. It included the Muddy Waters Blues Band, Big Joe Williams, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Mabel Hillery, Sunnyland Slim, Willie Dixon and Jesse Fuller. Paddy Sampson produced the show and Barry Callaghan served as host.

File contains three copies of CODA-The Canadian Jazz Magazine (May 1961, November 1962 and January 1963). CODA was founded in Toronto in May 1958 and is one of the longest continuously running music magazines in Canada and the oldest Jazz magazine in the country. CODA is published six times per year in January, March, May, July, September and November. In the May issue there is a paragraph titled "Suite for Jazz Quintet & Orchestra -Junior Magazine" (pg. 4). There is an annotation with "Paddy" next to the title. The article is about the "CBC's Junior Magazine on April 16th [1961] presented a program of contrast in music with Louis Applebaum moderating." It is a good review of the program. In the November issue there is a short paragraph the gives a bad review of the CBC's choice to show "Tongues of Brass" on New Year's Eve, a night typically reserved for " the most insignificant and unimportant programs- not something that has every indication of being high quality" (p. 8). This paragraph is circled in blue pen. The January 1963 issue contains a half-page article covering the "Tongues of Brass - C.B.C. TV December 31st". Despite the November 1962 article that expressed disappointment about the program's air time provides the show with a very positive review. The opening lines read, " Every once in a while jazz gets presented properly on TV. This was one of those occasions" (p. 4). The production received particular positive review, "Both the camera work and sound were excellent...This was one of the best jazz shows to have been shown on Canadian television. Everyone deserves credit foot a fine production" (p. 4).
