Morley Finley trophy

Gold plated lamp of learning, columns and figures on two wooden square bases. The Morley Finley trophy was awarded to the engineering student who earned the highest standing in English and the social sciences. Mr. Finley was Ryerson’s first registrar from 1948 to 1955.

American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) 1990 Annual Conference materials

This file contains Conference Program, Check List, Invitation and Information. It also has a trophy given to Ryerson in appreciation for being a co-host institution. Trophy is a clear glass dish mounted on a black glass base. The dish is embossed with a Toronto skyline design and the ASEE logo. The wording “1990 American Society for Engineering Education Annual Conference” is also embossed on the dish. The base has also been engraved with the ASEE logo along with the words “In Appreciation to Ryerson Polytechnical Institute Co-Host Institution”. The plaque measures . Plaques were presented to each of the co-hosts (Ryerson, University of Toronto and George Brown College) for hosting the 1990 ASEE Annual Conference in Toronto.

First year engineering programs

This program was coordinated by a department individual who acted as Director. Duties included liaising with secondary schools regarding student curriculum, programme and enrollment choices. A.R. Low served as Director from 1961-1962. C.R. Horney served as Director from 1963-1970.The program was discontinued in 1970.

Project Snowgoose

File compiled by Associate Dean of Technology Ike Morgulis. Project Snowgoose was a project undertaken by 8 Ryerson Electrical Technology students. Its goal was to design and create a prototype FM transmitter for use in the Northwest Territories. The project was funded by the Canadian government as part Opportunities for Youth program. Associate Dean Morgulis oversaw the project.
File contains reports, correspondence, and newspaper clippings.

Environmental Research at Ryerson

File contains a list of the Civil Technology Department courses, correspondence and report number 1 and 2 entitled " A Proposed Program of Environmental Research at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. It is also included the Environmental Pollution Control Committee Interim Report no. 1.
