Giola. The success of Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, which opened at the Netherlander Theater on Broadway on May 12, 1981, and ran 333 performances, until June 30, 1982 (Horne's 65th birthday). Later that same week, the entire show was performed again and videotaped for television broadcast and home video release. The Lady and Her Music toured 41 cities in the U.S. and Canada through June 17, 1984. Lena Horne (1917 - 2010) was an African-American singer, actress, civil rights activist and dancer.
