File contains images taken during the awards night event. Photographs are of the 2004 alumni achievement awards winners. The Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award winner was Jillian McKinley, Business Management '07

Alumni Weekend 2016

The file consists of material for Alumni Weekend 2016 including advertising for the 2016 Gould Street Party, information on the "Our Time to Lead" video spotlights, and The Ryerson Dinner program.

Campus exteriors

File contains photographic slides taken around campus. Included are aerial campus photos, Kerr Hall and the Quad, Victoria Lane - including the Podium and Library buildings, Lake Devo, Rogers Communication Centre, O'Keefe House, Pitman Hall, Student Campus Centre, the Normal School facade, and Yonge-Dundas re-development. Also include are photographs of flowers around campus and the Bird of Spring sculpture. A number of the photographs were taken during the winter.

Campus interiors

File contains photographs taken of various Ryerson building interiors. Included are the Library, the George Vari Engineering building, the Rogers Communication Centre, the Architecture building, and one identified classroom space.

Convocation

File contains photographic slides taken during the convocation procession through the Quad and the after the ceremony. Many of the photos are "aerial" shots taken from the roof of Kerr Hall looking down at the graduands.

Events

File contains photographs taken during various events around campus. They include the student parade (1991-2004) and picnic (1991), Women in Engineering (Aug. 2002), Campus tours (2004), Hospitality and Tourism events (ca. 2000), Alumni Services (ca. 1985) and Graphic Arts Management job fair (2000).

Off campus

File contains photographic slides taken around Toronto. Subjects include: Queen's Park; Bay Street skyscrapers; TTC streetcar along Dundas St.; Chinatown; C. N. Tower; Rogers Centre (Skydome); Yonge and Dundas; Sam the Record Man; Eaton Centre; and aerial skyline photographs.

Architecture

File contains photographs of students working on drafting, making models and learning in a classroom.

Engineering

File contains photographs of students building wood bridges and working with various pieces of equipment.

RTA

File contains photographs of RTA students filming, using editing equipment and other technology relating to their program.

Theatre

File contains photographs of students performing in masks, dancing, and rehearsing.

Unidentified

File contains photographs of an unidentified department. Photographs show two people working with unidentified equipment.

Props

File contains photographs of a tools and a man renovating a house, an open laptop computer, video transfer equipment room (was in RCC - has since been dismantled), Architectural equipment and books, and video cameras.

Ryerson Athletic Centre (RAC)

File contains photographs of the interior of the Ryerson Athletic Centre. Included are architectural shots as well as shots of people using the equipment and taking classes.

Students and Student Life

File contains posed and candidate photographs of Ryerson students. The posed photographs include single and group portraits. Candidate photographs are taken around campus.

Student residence

File contains interior and exterior views of Ryerson's student residences. Included are photographs of Pitman Hall, O'Keefe House, and the International Living Learning Centre (ILLC).

Charitable Campaigns

This file contains promotional material to fund raise for charities, primarily the United Way, but also Cancer Society, Ryerson awards, bursaries, and scholarships.

Alumni achievement awards and wall of recognition

On the occasion of its 50th Anniversary in 1998, Ryerson Polytechnic University established the Ryerson Alumni Achievement Awards to pay tribute to alumni who have excelled in their respective careers and who have made a significant contribution to their profession, their community and their country.

Alumni E-Newsletter

File contains hard copies of the Alumni e-newsletter. The newsletter contains links to various websites and stories pertaining to Ryerson and its alumni.

Sign - Welcome To Ryerson

Poster mounted on foamcore. It is a four-color shot of the clock tower with"Welcome To Ryerson - Ryerson University" on it. Used at Ryerson events. This item became obsolete with the change of Ryerson's logo.

FORUM newsletter: Vol. 23 , No. 1-13 and Vol. 24, No. 13-16

File contains 2 copies each of volume 23, issue 1-13 (Sept. - April). Issue 13 is labelled as Issue 12.
There is an unexplained change in volume for the next issue, which is listed as volume 24, issue no's 13-16 (April - July).
Third copy available to researchers on open shelving in reading room.

FORUM newsletter, 2006

File contains 2 copies of the 2006 editions of the newsletter. Newsletter went digital - hard copies created.

Archive Stock photographs

File contains slide copies of photographs in the Ryerson University Archives collection. Subjects include the Toronto Normal School, Ryerson's Campus, Parades, Dances, Convocation, Sports teams, Employees, and Ryerson's name change to University.

Mr. Santiago Calatrava

File contains photographs of architect Mr. Santiago Calatrava. Mr. Calatrava proposed a design for the new Centre for Computing and Engineering. This project was never realized.

Ceremony records

The Alumni Achievement Awards program was inaugurated in 1998 on Ryerson Polytechnic University's 50th Anniversary. There were initially two categories - Alumni Award of Distinction and Outstanding Recent graduate. The Alumni Award of Distinction is given for professional achievement. The Outstanding Recent Graduate Award is given an alumnus who brought honour to Ryerson withing 10 years of graduation. The winners are gifted with a medal created with funding from the Board of Directors of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in honour of Mr. Sharpe's induction into the Business Hall of Fame in 1998. The award was re-named for Mr. Sharpe in 2002. In 2008 the Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award was introduced, recognizing alumni who have provided outstanding volunteer assistance to the University. In 2013 the Outstanding International Alumni Award was introduced, recognizing the alumnus that has demonstrated exceptional accomplishment in their chosen profession, exceptional service in community affairs, and has contributed to the advancement of Ryerson University.

Various CDs related to the Office of University Advancement

File contains various CDs related to the Office of University Advancement. Included are CDs containing photographs from the 2010 Gould Street Park Festival and photographs from the 2008 Press conference on the Government of Ontario investing in the Student Learning Centre. There is also a CD of the television coverage of when Peter Gilgan visited the athletic centre at the Gardens in 2011.
