The photographs were found inside the Agnes Osberg album (2009.005.023) with a yellow sticky note that read: Came from the same family But Not this album.

Item is a light brown card with photograph of a man from the shoulders up, on a plain background. Embossed into the card at the base is the studio mark for William Notman and Son at 14 Phillips Square, Montreal. On verso, the name Guy Bulloch with the date 1900s is handwritten in blue ink.

[8x10 Nitrate Negative]

Item is a nitrate 8x10 negative. Inscription on negative "Eastman - Nitrate - Kodak 137." Nitrate film was manufactured between 1887 and 1950, but Notman studios operated until 1936, and this negative was housed in a Notman envelope. Image is a portrait of a man with a mustache, with the background completely blocked out (painted in opaque red paint), and his face has been touched up with pencil. The man's face is closely cropped, to one side. Unidentified man.

Item consists of a photograph mounted on cream card with decoratively frayed edges. Handwritten note at bottom right of image on card in black ink, "To my friend 'Alf' Martin/ P Lauren(?) Item is a white card with raised oval photograph of a woman with an embroidered jacket and her hair pulled back in braids. On the bottom of the card, in gold letterpress, "WILLIAM NOTMAN PHOTO". On verso, photographer's stamp lithographed in gold, "W. NOTMAN" with the Royal Crest at the centre and a ribbon wrapping that which reads "PHOTOGRAPHER TO/ HER MAJESTY" followed by the location of studio in "MONTREAL". At four corners of the design are images of medals, which read clockwise from top left, "LONDON" "1862/ LONDINE/ HONORIS/ CAUSA/ 1862" "1867" and "NAPOLEON III EMPEROR/ PARIS". Below the design, also in gold, "Branches at/ Toronto and Halifax." Handwritten lightly at top edge, "77159".

Photograph is a full length portrait of a woman with embroidered jacket standing admist cattail reeds. On verso, lithographed celtic interlace border design with the design of a crest with a maple leaf in the centre, and the letters "G" "C"and "A"intertwined. Below, "G. C. ARLESS/ Photographer/ MONTREAL/ Wm Galt. Lith." Handwritten in black ink at top, "Aug 1889".

Item is a brown cabinet card with text embossed in gold at the bottom edge, "Mad/ Ed./ Gagne/ 211 rue St. Laurent/ MONTREAL." Photograph shows a young woman with a fittend, columnar dark dress with elaborate ruffled flounce a the base and a long fur scarf. She holds a fur muff in her right hand, and rest her gloved left on the top of an elaborate metal gate. The scene appears indoors despite a blanket of grass beneath her feet. She wears a flat, straw hat.

Item is a beige card with embossed frame around photograph of three young girls, seated on a bench. The youngest is perched on the edge and wears a large bow in her hair. At bottom right of card, a red stamp with decorative wreath surrounding the initials "A B" is followed by the text "A. Brien/ 640 W. NOTRE DAME/ MONTREAL." On verso, in pencil, "[illeg] gilt(?)" and "6 x 9".

Item consists of a large rectangular album with the word "Photographs" printed on the cover. Album includes photographs of lakes, rivers, farms and landscapes in Ontario and Quebec. The first page of the album is a key to the album with names of each location, such as Trout Lake, Deux Rivieres, James Bay. Some pages have large panoramic images of locations, and others have several smaller photographs on the page.

Item is a snapshot photograph of three young men and a car. Two are standing beside the car while one is inside. Car is parked outside infront of some trees, picket fence and a shed. Back of the photograph has handwritten in black ink: 'Winston Hoyle 31 Concord Street Coaticook Que.'

No. 2 Flexo Kodak

Item is a box camera that uses No. 101 rollfilm for twelve 3.5 x 3.5 inch exposures. This camera has the unique feature where the sides and back come off completely for loading. It has an achromatic lens and rotary shutter. It was marketed as the "Plico" in Europe.

Revolving stereoscope viewer (A. Mattey)

Item is a wooden tabletop stereoscope with binocular viewer made with 50 built in glass stereographs of landscapes from Quebec and Montreal, factories and vernacular photography. Top of the stereoscope can open for additional light. Inside the object is a revolving metal belt (patented by Alexander Beckers) holding the stereographs that can be turned by the circular handles on the outside of the viewer.

Expo 67 Mini Album

Item is a photo album with a blue binding and a mostly blue and red cover. Item contains images of a number of different pavilions at Expo '67 for various countries and organizations, artworks, ceremonies and activities, and provides a short write up in French and English on each.

Carte de visite album

Leather bound album with gold trim and the title "ALBUM" printed on spine. Metal clasp. Thick cardstock pages coloured light blue with openings for inserting cartes de visite. Sparsely populated by card photographs from Notman Studios and others in Ontario and Quebec.

Front cover missing; back cover in tact. Bound with black string; loose. Black pages. Notations in white ink. Photographs mounted using black photo corners. A few Kodak Colour photograph. Some photographs loose.

item is a mounted, burnished albumen prints, slightly glossy surface. Depicts exterior of Victoria Foundry building, surrounding landscape, equipment and several workers. Recto caption at bottom of mat board: "United States Photo Company, Montreal." Verso centre, "Further copies may be had by referring to No. 298. United States Photo Co. Wm. Martel, Manager, 3 Place D'Armes Hill, Montreal."

Album also includes some photographi reproductions, almost small postcards, of well-known sites such as Hotel de Ville - City Hall; The Basilica; Kent House, and others.
