Elisabeth Flaws and Elsie K. Jones scholarship award winners

A letter sized piece of paper and an oversized poster listing the names of winners of the Elisabeth Flaws scholarship and the Elsie K. Jones Scholarship.
The letter sized listing lists winners, in black ink calligraphy, between 1940 and 1985.
The poster lists winners, in black black ink calligraphy, between 1940 and 1991. It also notes that awards were not handed out in 1987, 1989, 1992, and 1993.

Application guidelines

File part contains pages of guidelines, from different years, outlining the sources of funding available to members of the Wellesley Alumnae Association. The guidelines were sent out by the Vice President Patient Services for the Hospital V. Sinnott and the secretary of the Alumnae Association.

For 1986 there were three scholarships:

The Elisabeth Flaws Memorial Scholarship - available to active members of the Alumnae Association and are taking post graduate studies in nursing at the degree level. The scholarship was for $2000.

The Elsie K. Jones LaVenture Memorial Fund - is available to registered nurses that have been on staff at The Wellesley Hospital for a minimum of one year. Applicants must take a short term course in graduate studies. There is a one year service commitment to Wellesley after the course is completed.

The Mrs. Herbert A. Bruce Memorial Scholarship - available to current members of the Association and to registered nurses on staff at The Wellesley for a minimum of one year. Applicants must take a conference, seminar, workshop, or refresher course. Scholarship for $200.

For 1987, all the same scholarships were available along with one more:

The President's bursary - available to all current members of the Alumnae Association who are graduates of the School of Nursing. Applicants must take a short term course in graduate studies.

Technology Show - Out-Takes slides

File contains extraneous slides (out-takes) from the Technology Slide Show (RG 76.147). Included in the slides are photographs of Barb Ruttle, Bel Tronics (Glen Martinson), CATE, Electronic Technology, Professor Fernbach, Hydrolics and robots, Ken Stringer, Vincent and Jim Kendal, Microcomputer lab, Robert Miller, Robert Dunne, Al Martin, CN Tower, Technology show, and the Wind tunnel.

Extra slides

Two separate containers (one plastic container labelled "Old slides from 1980s - Hospital tour" and the other a cardboard box "Update G. floor when Le...[?] completed") of slides. Some are duplicates of ones used in slide show - others were not used at all.

Hospital Tour slide show

The 64 slide show created by the Alumnae Association as an intro the beginnings of the Hospital and its current (to the 1980s) layout and features. The initial slide show was created in 1980 with slides 58-64 were added in 1981-1982. Slides (put in order according to enclosed listing) are as follows.

Voluntarism - Pre Conference Reports

File contains copies of the issues papers written for the "A New Era in Voluntarism" conference. Papers were circulated to conference delegates to prepare them for the concurrent working sessions at the conference. RTA 1973 Class Reunion videos

This file contains a DVD containing still photographic images, videos, and a music file for the 1973 RTA class reunion held in October, 2013. Also on the disc is a video of 1986 reunion party. Salvatore (Sal) Greco was responsible for the creation of the disk and much of its content.

File contains snapshots taken at Les Garred's and Bill Slinger's retirement from Kodak. Description housed with a print reads: "On December 29th 1963 a dinner was held at the Rexway restaurant for Mr. L. Garred & Mr. Wm. Slinger who retired on December 31st 1963. Mr & Mrs. Garred, Mr. & Mrs. Slinger, Mr. J. McGrawm Mr. Bill Dean and Mr. E. Dockray who was master of ceremony. Both men received carousel projectors as leaving gifts."
