The series consists of the files from the Folk Recovery archive. The oral history project was created by Kejo Buchanan, host of the Jali Journey program on CJRU. Folk Recovery is an oral history project designed to highlight and celebrate Black, Indigenous, Asian and all racialized storytellers and their contributions to the Canadian folk sound.
The files in this serie contain audio and video copies of the storyteller's interview in wav and mp4 formats, an mp4 video with ASL interpretation, a participant headshot image in jpg format and an interview transcript in Microsoft Word and PDF formats.

For use with Kodak Picture Cards, which were available in sizes ranging from 16 MB to 96 MB.

The show aired on CBC Television between September 22, 1977 and September 12, 1980. The show was hosted by Ryan's Fancy in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Gabrielle in Edmonton, Alberta, Terry Jacks in Toronto, Ontario, Terry David Mulligan in Vancouver, British Columbia, Gerry and Ziz in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Jim Bennett in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The item description includes show number, working title, producer, host, cast, location, segments, packaging and segment deadlines. File contains one television script - Lena Horne : The Lady and Her Music Routine (June 1982, RKO Pictures, 90 mins. ) by Executive producer Robert Many and Producer Bill Siegler, two RKO Pictures' promotional posters and one "Lena Horne: The Highlights" biography proposal compiled by Diane M. Giola. The success of Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, which opened at the Netherlander Theater on Broadway on May 12, 1981, and ran 333 performances, until June 30, 1982 (Horne's 65th birthday). Later that same week, the entire show was performed again and videotaped for television broadcast and home video release. The Lady and Her Music toured 41 cities in the U.S. and Canada through June 17, 1984. Lena Horne (1917 - 2010) was an African-American singer, actress, civil rights activist and dancer.
