Task Force on Graduate Education

The Task Force on Graduate Education Administration and Delivery was created to review the changing role of graduate education at Ryerson. The task force's goals were to ensure graduate education is a core priority and that there is an appropriate capacity for delivering and administrating the school. They looked at the funding model, operational structure, and best practices for showcasing the programs. Review of Policies, Practices and Protocols related to Sexual Assault at Ryerson University

At the bequest of the Council of Ontario Universities, Ryerson University began a process of reviewing its policies on dealing with sexual assault to see if a single consolidated policy was needed. The review was headed by Heather Lane Vetere, Vice-Provost Students. She met with a cross section of the Ryerson Community and there were opportunities for feedback by students and staff. The result was a single consolidated policy and a list of 18 recommendations.
File contains correspondence, draft, and final reports and a copy of the consolidated policy.

Academic Plan 2014, preliminary documents

File contains preliminary documents, and announcements regarding the creation of a new academic plan for Ryerson. Ryerson's present academic plan "Shaping our Future" ends in 2013. File also includes the final report to Senate by the Task Force on Interdisciplinary Programs and a copies of the draft developing framework.

12/12 Library

File contains a memo from the chief library on the State of the Ryerson Library and its development, memos on library procedures, library hour, inventory and other materials related to the library operations.

12/24 Convocation

File contains correspondence regarding convocation programs and dates, luncheon invitation list, and other materials related to the convocation ceremonies. Included are the remarks delivered at the convocation in the Applied Arts Division of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute on Friday, May 16th, 1968 by A. Wilkinson.

Budget and Academic Planning

File contains a budget report, information on planning and budgeting, preliminary budget, student enrollment and enrollment figures. Included is also information on Academic Planning, Academic Planning Committee, programme alterations and a memo from the OCUA regarding the allocation of the Government's Operating Support for the University System.

Miscellaneous

File contains a miscellanea of textual records. Included in the file are an outline for a proposed new course "Research Project"; an agenda for the Steering Committee for Ryerson Open College; a memo regarding the Deans' meeting; a copy of "An act respecting Ryerson Polytechnical Institute"; and a letter from a high school guidance counsellor.

Law School at Ryerson University

File contains 2 copies of the white paper "Training Tomorrow's Legal Professionals" and 2 copies of the Letter of Intent for the founding of a Law School at Ryerson. In February 2018 Ryerson received approval from the Law Society of Ontario. The School will open for students in September 2020.

Periodic review and evaluation of undergraduate programs

Two copies of the Report are contained in this sub-series, with a covering letter from Errol Aspevig, Chair of the Program Review Committee, to Dennis Mock, Vice-President Academic. The Report was included in the Agenda for the May 6, 1996 meeting of Academic Council.One copy of Academic Council Policy No. 126, "Periodic Program Review of Undergraduate Programs", dated and approved April 5, 2005.
