One green ration book (Book 2, belonged to John Albert Elgie) and one brown ration book (Book 4, belonged to Maggie Elgie). Each contains stamps for rationed items during World War Two. Book 2 describes items as Spare A, B or G, but in Book 4 these classes were replaced by descriptions of the actual items ie. Meat, Tea or Coffee. Some stamps are missing from each.

They are individually numbered in black ink with a 4 digit number on white sticker labels, but there is no index to go with the slides.

One cardboard box meant for holding dry plates manufactured by the Stanley Co. Box contained one dozen plates and ranked a No. 50 on the sensitometer. Box bears a logo with a man on a horse saying "On Stanley, On."
F.E. Stanley developed his own dry plate formulation and then eventually began selling plates to other photographers. The venture proved so successful that he and his twin brother, F. O. Stanley, became partners in the Stanley Dry Plate Company in 1884. Their coating machine, patented in 1886, accelerated the dry plate process, coating plates at a speed of one plate per second. The twins ultimately sold the Stanley Dry Plate Company to George Eastman of Eastman Kodak, who used the Stanley innovation to build his photography empire.

Conditions pictured include chicken pox, hives, athlete's foot, acne of the face, impetigo, poison ivy, ringworm, boils, pediculosis, scabies, measles, and animal ringworm. The slides are accompanied by a short, typewritten sheet with a script entitled "Description of Slides" and dated July 15th, 1944, which describes poison ivy and athlete's foot. The slides appear to be written for prospective campers, and intended to be presented by a Miss Hankinson and Mrs Benham. the series was published by the Ryerson Film Service department of Ryerson Press.

Printed slide depicts a hunting mishap. Men are walking beside each other and then one accidentally shoots the other in the bottom, while trying to shoot a rabbit. The uninjured man carries the injured man back home.

Slides are titled "Fist Degree" and "Second Degree" and have symbols on them. "First Degree" shows a bow with three arrows, a quiver of arrows and a log with a red ribbon around it. "Second Degree" has a globe, a hand with a heart, an axe, a cross with a snake wrapped around it and a box with a couple statues.

Slides feature the sheet music to play different songs. Titles are: "Hail! Hail! The Gang's All Here!" "God Save the King" and "Goodnight, Ladies"
