The file consists of greeting cards, business cards, notes, one postcard, some return address stubs from envelopes, and 1 newspaper clipping.
Cards are sorted by year with each year in a separate plastic sleeve, totaling 6 sleeves or bags. Four bags are in one box, the final two in a separate box. A few cards are bent or otherwise damaged. Business cards, etc. that were paperclipped in place have been inserted loosely into the appropriate greeting card.

Terms governing use, reproduction, and publication
Seasonal greeting cards were typically received these years from the Prime Minister of Canada, the Premier of Ontario, the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, assorted cabinet ministers at both the provincial and federal level, the Mayor of Toronto, University Presidents from across Ontario, Canada and abroad (including China, Singapore, Thailand), corporate bodies including some with Board of Governor connections to RPI.
Jim Parr who at one point was the Deputy Minister of Colleges & Universities for Ontario designed his own Christmas card.
Two cards from a Hungarian source include an image printed on wood veneer -- years 1986 and 1987.
One card from the 1987 year was actually received in 1988.
Cards from Prime Ministers feature family photos include the following sitting Prime Ministers: Pierre E. Trudeau (1982-1983), Brian Mulroney (1984-1987), additional cards from John Turner and Joe Clark are part of the arrangement but were retained with cards from the year group in which they were found, even if questionable.
