Biographical history

Roy Horney started at Ryerson in 1952 to teach math and Physics. During his time at Ryerson he was the departmental head for Instrument Technology, 1960-1962; departmental head for Gas and Instrument Technology, 1962-1965; instructor supervisor for Gas and Instrument Technology, 1965-1967; Assistant chairman for Chemical and Metallurgical Technology, 1967-1971; co-ordinator of the Technology Division, 1971-1972; and Registrar, 1974-1978. During his time as Registrar he helped implement RISIS II - the second version of the Ryerson created student information system. Roy was also the coach of the Ryerson Zebras, the early men's soccer team. Roy Horney retired from Ryerson in 1983 and was subsequently voted Ryersonian of the Year for 1984.

Six faculty members in gowns and mortarboards standing outside Yorkminster Baptist Church. In the photo are: Electronics professor J. W. Hazelton; Social Science professor W. B. S. Trimble; Electronic Technology professor H. W. Jackson; Physics professor A. R. Low; unknown; and Architecture professor Chuck Worsley.

John (Jack) W. Hazelton taught in the Industrial Chemistry starting in 1950, acting as the Director or Department head, as well as serving as the Vice-Principal Technology Division. John passed away in 1989.
Roy Low taught in the school of Electrical Technology in 1950. He served as the Director of Mathematics and Physics.
Charles (Chuck) R. Worsley started at Ryerson part-time in 1951 in the Architecture department. He served as Dean of Architecture, as well as Dean of Technology until 1977/78. Chuck passed away in February 2007
