Biographical history
Christopher Evans is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biology at Ryerson University and has been the University's Vice Provost Academic since 2010. Evans earned his BSc and MSc in Chemistry from Carleton University and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Ottawa. He is former associate dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science (FEAS) and the former chair of the Council of Ontario Deans of Arts and Science. Before joining Ryerson in 1998, Evans spent eight years as assistant professor and associate professor in chemistry at the University of Iceland. His research and teaching interests include: photographic chemistry, molecular recognition, the nature and uses of host-guest complexes; binding models for cyclodextrins; applications of polymer immobilized cyclodextrins; and development of molecular imprinted hydrogel polymers.
