Biographical history
Beth Kaplan has taught memoir and personal essay writing at Ryerson University since 1994, and at the University of Toronto since 2007. Kaplan graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art at 22. After a decade as a professional actor, she left the profession to earn an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. Kaplan has been a regular contributor to the Globe and Mail and CBC radio. She is the author of four books, including "Finding the Jewish Shakespeare: the Life and Legacy of Jacob Gordin" (Syracuse University Press, 2007), " All My Loving: Coming of Age with Paul McCartney in Paris" (BPS Books, 2014), and "True to Life: 50 Steps to Help You Tell Your Story" (BPS Books, 2014).
